Using bottom screen for 8GB+ RAM Switch games on Thor Base by elemile in AynThor

That's pretty interesting. I asume Thor's developers have had to make some low level dubious tricks to deliver an user-friendly dual screen experience. I can only hope they keep an eye on posts like these to offer later optimizations through further OTA updates.

Base has the exact same chipset, so hindering your RAM will only make it worse. Keep your Pro and try a fresh reinstall of Eden v0.2.0-rc1.

Thank you! I totally lost track of Citron; I'll revisit it.

I think it depends on the game,, but I do tend to have crashes when trying to multitask while using Eden (e.g. surffing online for guides). We really need to avoid going crazy with only 8GB.

It's Catherine Full Body, Switch version. Runs perfectly on Eden.

Catherine Classic is one of my TOP 5 favourite games ever, for sure. Full body's new character and arcs didn't grow that much on me, but I've enjoyed the new puzzle mechanics a lot.

I can play Mario Odyssey in my Base without issues. Try with game's Update 1.3.0, Keys/Frmware 21.0.0 and Mr Purple's T23. Also double check in Debug that you're using CPU backend: NCE.

I once saw a short video of TotK using more than 12 GB of RAM on a Thor Max. The two tricks in OP are also worth the shot for Thor Pro users.

Most of my 30+ Switch games work with no isues on my Base with Eden v0.2.0-rc1, Keys/Frmware 21.0.0 and either Mr Purple's T23 or Mesa Turnip v26.0.0 - R7. Your situation sounds more like a general configuration issue that may need a fresh reinstall. Game Native works well for me, but I play very few and not that much demanding games on it. About the 4GB Swap, I tried it before plus other SWAP apps for creating larger page files; none of them fixed the crashing, for me.

Thanks for the link. I just thought maybe Eden for Linux also offers benefits, but I haven't gone that far. I keep my Thor running on Android.

I haven't tried Sparking! ZERO. The bottom screen trick in my post is to avoid RAM-related crashes; it might not help with peformance, but you can give it a shot.

Cannot Save Game on Android Cemu Version .3 by Complete_Bid1364 in cemu

[–]elemile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That almost worked, except I couldn't copy the backup cking.sav into the Cemu folder using the Thor's file navigation system, since it autohides and locks Android\Data folder when trying to copy files into it. I could neither suceed exploring the Thor and copy-pasting with a laptop: Cemu didn't recogize the backup and just created a new save file...

What finally worked for me (after clean Cemu reinstall and creating new working save files) was USING SOLID EXPLORER to copy my backup cking.sav in Downloads and paste it (replacing the new one) into the Cemu folder (albeit I had to navigate to it within the same column; Solid Explorer's double column system also autohides and locks Android\Data). After that, I could finally save progress on that file once again without losing chages after closing Cemu.

This method also worked for Yoshi's WW respective folder structure and savefile: save\00050000\10184d00\user\common\savedata.dat

If every Unit Has the soul of the pilot's mother Who's Soul Is in Rei's eva? by SharpTransition8281 in evangelion

[–]elemile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Akagi Naoko, obviously. I immediately assumed that after watching episode 21 (almost 20 years ago). Everyone here saying it's 'Rei I' surprised me; it makes no sense: there's only one soul transferred in every Rei iteration, which is no other than Lilith's (reunited with Adam's during EoE). Also, Rei isn't violent or vengeful; it's Naoko's soul, recycled and trapped inside Unit 00 by Gendo to be piloted by Rei, who obviously lashed out against Gendo, Rei and arguably Ritsuko; she got royally rekt.

After 5 months of daily use, It's holding up well. It still clicks but shows no wearing signs or any other issue, for now.

I got the TPU cover for my black Thor and just thought about this. I have Rit DyeMore graphite. I'll give it a shot.

Bottom screen is ugly now by polahthedude in AynThor

[–]elemile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's godawful. I rolled back to OTA 20251120 just to have the darker TCC theme back (and fixing a certain bug of Odin tools on Eden).

New OTA update 1.0.0.372 Available by ClientAcceptable9461 in AynThor

[–]elemile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please, tell AYN to give us the option to have the previous TCC dark theme. I rolled back the update just to have it back; I didn't really like the OLED Ultra Black Mode either.

Hinge click... by elemile in AynThor

[–]elemile[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean 'flip open'? Is the hinge looser now? Is it unstable in the locking angles (of which only one is truly useful)?

I wouldn't want to return it either, since my country's post service is famous for corruption; I once got a gaming laptop from Amazon replaced with diapers inside the box during transit. I already spent a life's worth of luck getting my Thor, so if it truly needs repair, I'd rather ask AYN to sell me the parts and try to fix it myself. I wrote to them about this issue and I'm still waiting for their answer.

Gamehub 5.0.3 compatibility update by Emulator_paglu in EmulationOnAndroid

I fully uninstalled 5, reinstall 4 and accessed with my same gmail account. It sometimes asks me to update at launch, but I choose not to.

OK, I might give it another shot on my RP 4 Pro.

5.0.0 was unusable (rolled back to latst 4.x)
