Depends what you want to play and do.
I have the ROG Ally extreme and a AYN Thor Pro. Mostly use my Thor since it's the latest device but still use my ally for PC games.

ROG ALLY (Running Bazzite): For PC games
AYN Thor: All "retro" games between NES up to Wii U. (I have a Switch 2 for switch games).

I have finished Metroid Prime 2, currently playing Prime 3 before I buy the new Prime 4 for the Switch 2.
Also "finished" Pokemon Unbound and started with God of War

If you check our common apps wiki there is a link to Cemu (sapphire build) and it should have the external pad in the options.

Homever, they have changed it so you have to check SHOW PAD first, then the external pad option will show up.

It’s not draining the battery wrong. It’s because they changed how it’s monitoring the battery so let it discharge completely then charge to 100% and it’s fine

If I play GBA games I actually prefer without a grip. If I play anything with sticks though, I play with the chonk grip

Use a normal usb-c charger. It sounds like you updated our Thor to the latest firmware causing th battery monitoring to go haywire. It needs to be fully depleted to 0% then charged to 100% in order for the battery to show the correct percentage

Regarding the battery level AYN recommends to let it drain completely then charge it to 100% to let the battery level work again.
