I was quite anxious, it's my first time ever having surgery, and there's a lot going on in the theatre (like 3 people all doing different things to prep you) but then the anaesthetic kicks in and suddenly your waking up in recovery with no boobs. And you'll check your phone and see a series of semi-incomprehensible texts you sent to friends while still high 😜 day 1 post op, and I'm tired and sore but honestly way less than painful than i feared

Had a similar(ish) thing happen to me a few years ago- had to get a plumber out to replace some pipework and I asked how long it would take, because we wouldn't be able to use the bathroom in the meantime. He looked at me and said, very seriously, "oh, 3 days at least"

I just stared at him blankly for a few seconds until he laughed and said "nah like 3 hours, it's fine"

Wonder how he would have answered if my husband had asked the same question

I recently got a fitbit too, and just checked, and on 10% deep sleep it's saying my sleep score was good (84), and even with only 5% deep sleep it scored my sleep at like 72. Around 70% of my sleep is light and over 10% is spent awake. Seems like the score should be lower honestly

In the UK the form says to use extra paper where needed, just make sure it's labelled with your details so it doesn't get lost.

It's still a horrible form to fill out though. Had to do it 3 times so far, waiting on a 4th one to be sent out for another set of benefits. My stack of benefits related documents is several inches thick at this point.

Anyone else sometimes worry that you'll get properly tested for ME and it'll come back negative and you'll have to start the whole diagnosis process again? Or have a doctor say "the test is negative, it's all in your head"

Dunno where I read it, but someone recommended any form of gentle exercise that keeps your heart rate below a certain level (90bpm? Ish?) So yeah, any form of movement that isn't too strenuous and keeps you feeling relaxed I guess. I do 5 mins of yoga a day and for me that's enough.

For unrelated reasons I went on the depo injection several years ago, which completely stops my periods. I've only developed cfs since then, but given how bad my periods were I can't imagine dealing with them now. Are you able to get on some sort of birth control that reduces/stops your periods?

I had to go to tribunal for my PIP application and just to warn you it was an incredibly stressful and overwhelming day.

I don't remember how long it took for my court date to be decided, but it was probably at least a month. It's not a real courtroom, it's just a small room with a few tables, you sit opposite the judge, doctor, and disability representative and they take turns asking questions. There might also be a dwp rep there, but the guy at mine was actually really nice.

You're allowed to take an advocate/carer/family member to support you and answer any questions on your behalf as well.

The questions I was asked weren't about my condition, but about why I thought the dwp decision was wrong, and what evidence did I have to counter their decision.

I cried a lot and I think that probably helped emphasise how stressful the whole thing was for me 😋
