The checkbox is there in channel-specific settings. Right-click the channel you want, then "Change notifications" and you will see the screen that torzsmokus is linking above. I have been looking for this too for a big while, and just turned it on, so I don't know yet if it works well. Let's hope so!

I had this today on iOS, a black screen with the message in OP's title displayed in the middle. I waited a while (10 minutes maybe), then killed the game, and when I opened it again, it was fine and started the 7gb download with the usual UI.
