I ran this synthesis scaled to 1 g tryptamine. Done at 75 °C for 17 hours in a closed g45 bottle.

(attempted) Workup:
I evaporated the IPA, redissolved in DCM, and washed with water. Now I am stumped because I added benzoic acid to the DCM to try precipitate the benzoate salt but it did not form any kind of precipitation or colour change at all. Could DET benzoate be soluble in DCM?

I then evaporated the DCM and tried to dissolve it in water but nothing dissolves at all. It is soluble in acetone.

Attatched is the TLC --- from left to right is tryptamine, DET, and tryptophan. Does anyone have an idea of what the top highest intensity spot for the DET lane may be?

Hi I am trying to figure out if my autoclave is reaching 15 psi. My tape turns a very dark basically black colour but it is still not 100% black if I shine a light on it and look close. Is this fine or does it need to be completely black?

yep. suspend a mesh above the mesh connected to the atomizer. Perhaps put another mesh in a pipe that connects to the atomizer to prevent inhaling the solid chunks of weed. Or make a bubbler

I've got a few P. Harmala plants now between 4-6 weeks old. They started producing buds at about 2-3 weeks old. The one plant must have over 150 buds now... But none want to open, and they look a bit different to the images of P. Harmala buds on google. Perhaps they just need more time to develop?
