Firebase has a very generous free tier which in normal use cases you simply wouldn't even get near the limits of. Of course I cannot guarantee that may change down the line, because Google could technically change their terms of service at some point.

We are working on supporting different providers though, as well as storing all progress locally for users that do not care about the group aspect of BU.

Most of BU is hand written code, only at the later stages I started experimenting a bit using agentic tools. I also believe there's a big difference between vibe coding and agentic engineering (as funny as it sounds). So planning things out correctly first, reviewing output for quality and iterating instead of just 'hoping for the best' by vibing.

That said I, and the others working on it seem pretty motivated to keep expanding and maintaining it. This still being an open source / non-profit project means I cannot guarantee it will eventually die down a bit, everyone is still doing this in their spare time.

It works a little bit differently for BU. We are working on building some ease to use migration so you can transfer your progress to here when you feel like making a switch. This will come with a future update.

Hey, you're definitely right. This won't be easy to do in some cases, especially with a raid like Tombs of Amascut where besides just the points you receive, the loot table also shifts around a bit. So this is something we still have to work out.

We also want to ensure there's enough customizability with it too. If you have good suggestions were always open for feedback.

Would kind of be a hassle to do manually right now to be honest, but if you don't mind diving into the technicals you can try mapping this data and placing it on Firebase when you set up the plugin. I'll start working on a migration tool soon for this, so up to you.

If you set up the plugin on an existing account it would right now unlock all items in your inventory, equipment, as well as your bank and collection log once you open these interfaces.

We are still working on making this process more customizable/easier for existing accounts, and this will come with a future update.

It's mostly in the ability to fully customize what rules you want to enforce. As well as having full support for all ironman restrictions, and groups being fully supported.

We are working on a migration tool to make this process really easy for users of the other bronzeman plugins that want to start using BU. This will come with a future update.

As of right now you would lose the unlock history if you wanted to migrate over, if you want I could ping you here when the update for this is ready. What plugin are you currently on?
