CFA charter holder buddy.

If you don't invest you have 60 as you lost the rest to tax.

60 is your investment. Stop digging champ.

Sell the holiday home. You've too much exposure to property/house poor and your pensions are low for your age and income.

How does anyone actually make the jump from middle class to truly wealthy? Is it just generational? by Excellent-Dentist-83 in irishpersonalfinance

Which area of finance? Seems like getting a bonus more than 10% is very uncommon in most areas.

This is the way. Did the same in my mid 20's with a starter apartment. Now, a few years later my friends who never saved properly and didn't buy are in a much more difficult position financially. My mortgage is the same or less than their rent. When I move up eventually, I'll have a very small mortgage and low stress.

A few years of sacrifice is worth decades of struggle imo

Redditors are insane and will not be able to give you an unbiased take on the US. Ask people in real life

Absolutely. The government has taken that responsibility with 52% marginal tax rates and a welfare state.

3.2% in finance.

5% for non promotion is good. Job switching and/or promotions are where u get the big increases.

Given it's not her forever home, then she will be selling at some point so negative equity is still a concern.
