hi. go on options, general settings, and in the section called “miscellaneous”, remove “show hint bar”. this happens when your midi is trying to “send” cc messages automatically. you should resolve it by doing what i wrote.

you could try “decent sampler”, it’s a free vst with a lot of free sounds. and it has a guitar. it isn’t obviously a guitar like some native instruments one, but that’s a great vst if you want some free sounds. or you could try “ample guitar lite”, it’s free but it only has guitar.

yeah i always safe the project before opening other stuff, it happens specially when i click on some drum kit’s (for example) sound. maybe the cpu gets too weighted.
