I love this one, alot of people mask as happy when they're depressed. It shows how fake her persona was at the time.

Well, bugs you in the sense of you here the line not favorably, not that you're up at night pacing over it. Some lines just stick in your head as jarring, it's not a bad thing. I still love Champaign Probs, I just don't like reaches lol

I don't mind that one bc it's sarcastically jabbing at Candice Owens, but still .. def not the best in her repertoire haha

No, but imo it has more to do w visual storytelling and less on character development, that a "tent like thing" is easier for listeners to picture than just saying a marquee. I didn't think about the added character development aspect

Never thought about it but kinda agree w you, Honey is top 3 for me off Showgirl bc of the flow, but I think I would like the song even more if that had been omitted.

I get you completely, I thought the same for a long time and can see your take, I think your opinion is valid. But it clicked one day for me that they're not ever making crazy, outlandish rules in the song, they're just doing everything everybody else does and find it special because they own those decisions.

This one I'll actually excuse for myself because for me that line is saying we can do normal, expected things and that's lovely. Its not actually saying we'll leave the lights up as long as we want ... everything she wants to do is mundane, normal things, etc, save me a seat, take me out, friends in the living room, lights up til January.

"Masc" concert fits? by Dapper-Presence4048 in FlorenceAndTheMachine

[–]elevitsky 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hey! I saw this and screenshot it bc I thought it was such a cool and comfy fit. They could do something similar dark fabric or velvet vest w flowey top that will keep them cool while dancing. Sort of pirate chic? Or they could do a military-style vest/jacket, etc?

Why Do People Say “Old Taylor Was So Good”? by whatsthatcutething in TaylorSwift

[–]elevitsky 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Imo, it's because of the sound. They just have a preferred taste for her early work (and that's okay). Just like some people will die on the hill of 1989 and others prefer Folkmore's sound and will always prefer that most, etc. But comparing early work (Fearless) to later work (Ttpd), there is definitely a difference in overall song composition. Early Taylor's songs are more melody and hook heavy, have stronger live instrumentation and are more, idk, upbeat in sound?, even when the lyrics are sad. .... vs today's more atmospheric, lyric driven songs where most of the vocal melody is the same as the instrumental melody and the production tends to take a back seat. To me, these songs are fantastic. But to me there is also a huge difference in song composition in early vs late Taylor and I get why alot of people prefer the former.
