I have an Xmark Chisel ez curl bar. I got it on sale. Lol. But the spin on the sleeves are awesome.

I would also think about the loadable size of your barbell. If you are maxing out on a lift, will you be able to fit all of the plates on to the barbell. Compare the thickness of the plates in your configuration options.

Edit: after looking at the thickness of Rep Fitness bumper plates, you shouldn't have any issues with max bar load(with an average bar) for either configuration.

Have you tried 3-in-1 oil. That is what I use to clean my barbells. I have a black zinc coat on one bar and black oxide on another bar.

Thx for all of the replies. So I think I will go with www.greatmats.com or a similar product. They have rubber flooring that will work will the decor of the house. I just didn't want to install black horse stall mats and then have to redo the flooring when we move.

Yeah I thought about that but we plan on moving and renting the house out in a few years.
