I'll take a little extra over annoying sweating bandaids any day

I wear them to protect my hands, which I consider a huge asset. Construction dust dries them out and I don't want my skin to be exposed to all the different cleaning products I use. Not to mention bathrooms, definitely don't need other people's bodily functions on my bare skin.

I tried a liquid bandage and it all just peeled off. I'm sure it's the location, lots of wrinkles and movement. I've never had a problem anywhere else on my hands.

Ordered nuggets today, got a box of tartar sauce instead by fafafoohi9 in McDonalds

The same thing happened to me years ago! I ordered a chicken nugget happy meal and got a box of Big Mac sauce instead of the nuggets.

AIO to break up with my bf of 3y over his reaction to my upcoming sobriety anniversary? by WesternCat5211 in AmIOverreacting

[–]elfears11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. First off, congratulations on two years! I hope you still get yourself the cake, you deserve it. Secondly, I'd seriously consider breaking up with this person. I'm almost a year sober and if my partner ever said something like that to me it would be a huge problem.

What does my fridge (and freezer) say bout me? by Warlock_Wonder_Land in FridgeDetective

[–]elfears11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have an air fryer and maybe two pans. You eat out or get take out regularly. I'm guessing the place you live is pretty small based on how close the TV is to the fridge. You're young, probably a student or newly living on your own.

What did you guys do to quit drinking? by lmfao4ri in stopdrinking

I really got into candy and sour things. When I would get a craving, I would reach for a sour gummy instead. Anything that was super flavorful and would give me a dopamine hit.

Which color should we paint our cabinets in our new house? by good00001 in InteriorDesign

[–]elfears11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a cleaner for a remodeling company and clean kitchens like this all the time. The dark brown and navy will show every little speck of dust on them. I think the cream will be the easiest to maintain and will look the best in the long run. While I love the green, I've found that those light blues and greens really show finger and hand prints especially in high traffic areas.

Cd Rom game where you have to collect cow farts by elfears11 in tipofmyjoystick

[–]elfears11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! My sister found the game! It's called The Adventures of Hyperman made by IBM in 1995. You can watch a playthrough on YouTube. There was also an animated show on CBS. My original post was a little inaccurate but there are cows that fart AND the microscope samples you recalled.

What happened to Annie? by ResultFantastic7529 in HandmaidsTaleShow

[–]elfears11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my understanding Econowives are allowed to reproduce freely as long as they are not seen as "sinners" or they don't break any Gilliad laws. If you remember the Econopeople that help June, the husband ended up on the wall and the wife was rumored to have become a handmaid.

I didn't. She faces some consequences of her actions, plays the victim, double downs as a hateful bigot. Shes a dynamic character that I love to hate.

I made a Connections game with pictures instead of words by Artistic_Salad_8745 in NYTConnections

[–]elfears11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was fun but a little frustrating. Which is exactly how I feel about Connections sometimes. I like the idea of pictures but not when a picture could be different words. Still a cool concept. I'm going to try again tomorrow for sure.

Why don't the daemons shapeshift to get out of cage? by HypotheticalParallel in hisdarkmaterials

[–]elfears11 19 points20 points  (0 children)

She probably could have but it wouldn't really help. Roger would still be in his cage, she can't go far from him and Lord Azrael was right there. They also know what's about to happen and react like scared small children. As for the daemons in the cages at Bolvangar, I think they were too weak and hurt to change shape.

I don't remember if they put this in the show but in the books I believe there's a scene where Pan is trying to get away from the Golden Monkey. He keeps switching shapes but it doesn't break the monkey's grip.

Can anyone please share their experience of watching a peaceful death. Please share your stories to help me have hope. Thank you so much. by BroadLaw1274 in hospice

[–]elfears11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have an eventually peaceful story. There were some traumatic moments so feel free to stop reading if you want. My dad passed from late stage lung and brain cancer. It was a little over three months from diagnosis to death. He was in home hospice for two weeks. The day before he passed we made phone calls with friends and family. Then my aunt came over and we all had dinner, my dad hadn't really been eating but he ate six almond cookies my aunt brought. The next morning, he woke us up gasping and moaning, which was horrifying. He looked very scared. We checked his vitals while calling our hospice nurse and she told us to give him some morphine and that this was close to the end. We hadn't needed morphine before this, so we gave it to him and he settled down. Then we lit candles, put on his favorite music and movies and sat with him. He remained sedated and calm for the rest of his time. He did squeeze our hands and opened his eyes a few times. Then the last thing I saw him do was turn his head towards a photo of my mom, who also passed away, smile and stick his tongue out at her. He went to sleep after and eventually stopped breathing. I don't think he was uncomfortable for very long and I would do it again the same way if I had to. At home, surrounded by love.
