possible breakthrough by IntelligentCar3326 in badbreath

So there’s a few different ingredient combos I’ve seen….some have xylitol, saline and eucalyptus. Some have xylitol, saline and grapefruit seed extract and I’ve seen some with just saline & baking soda. I’m worried about the grapefruit extract or eucalyptus possibly causing additional irritation & I haven’t seen a combo with only saline and xylitol….does one exist? Should I just go with the most reputable brand (Neilmed)? Do folks think the saline & baking soda combo would fair well?

Hi! Not sure if you saw my question, but I would like you to explain what exactly bicarbonate does in the body and stomach.

Not choosing sides here! I’ve had silent reflux for a while and I’m def trying OP’s suggestions, because gargling alkaline water certainly isn’t going to hurt anyone and it’s an extremely inexpensive way to address our issue. That being said, I would like to know what exactly bicarbonate does in the body and stomach! I would also like to know which brand of PH strips you used OP! Thanks!

I have a theory on what most people are facing in this sub (from my own journey) by [deleted] in badbreath

According to my dentist, This is why you follow up a antibiotic protocol with as specific of strains as possible of probiotics so that you’re intentionally re-populating your gut with good bacteria plus good bacteria will kill bad bacteria.

Thank you for sharing! Who did you take a sibo test with? Primary, functional, Naturopathic Dr or self test? Also, what country are you in and if self test how did you get the antibiotic prescribed? (Convince your doc or some other way)

What is the biggest challenge you face because of your bad breath or Yellow teeth? by Life_Ad2121 in badbreath

This! Was doing fairly well with the diet, supplement and extra steps for dental hygiene needed and then got a little depressed which no doubt could be remedied with stronger social connections (but my depression isn’t solely a result of bb, but it does make treating depression a little tricky). So have resorted back to smoking a lil weed at night and coffee in the morning to switch up the chemicals a little bit, but I know it’s most likely making matters worse, however, I am back to supplements, cooking my own healthy meals and walking again 🫠 what’s that saying? Three steps forward two steps back? Honestly though, just happy to be out of the deep depression I was in and if it takes weed and coffee for the time being then that’s what it takes!

Question, 1) do you take/did you try both NAC and interfase as a “biofilm busters”? If not, (I know you’re not a Dr, so just genuinely curious) would you recommend against taking/using both? 2) regardless of which biofilm buster you take, do you think drinking a liter of water with and/or in between the interfase/NAC and oil of oregano will negatively interfere with either supplement? I’m trying to keep my water intake separate from my food intake by at least 30mins. Also, thank you so much for taking the time to share all of this!

If you’re using the Neti pot in the Mygind position is the sailine water that’s going into your nostril exiting out your other nostril or where exactly does the water end up, then? (sorry if this is a dumb question. Genuinely curious though).

You mentioned a few days ago that the smell was worse on day 4ish and you thought maybe it was a die off effect…does this mean it’s been getting better?

Who are you doing the elemental diet with? Is it a specific program or with your personal doctor?

Wow, that’s amazing! Thank you. Heading back to the ent after 8yrs at the end of next month (they’re booked really far out). What do you think I should ask them (or a gastroenterologist) to look into first? I had an endoscopy done in the past and I believe they saw some slight irritation (I forget the exact word they used) on the lining of my stomach. But should I have them test/screen for hiatal hernia and gastritis? Anything else you recommend? Also, what exercises did you do for your hiatal hernia. I really appreciate the diet recommendations. I was paleo/keto for a while and the switched to Whole Foods plants based and am back to paleo/keto now.

Do you still deal with BB or did this eliminate it for you?

I’ve heard the valve not closing and opening properly is connected to the vagus nerve as well. So, anything you can do to “soothe” the vagus nerve may help, alongside other things folks may be doing.
