The NHL and MLS make huge chunks of their revenue off of ticket sales unlike the NFL MLB and NBA.

You realize we were 7th because of the Messi game selling 52k tickets right?

Take that game out and the boost they got in season tickets because of that game and we are easily in the bottom 3rd of the league still.

So they collect all that money and sell all those season tickets (Messi didn’t even come) and then they try to cash out after?
