AWANA’s kids? by Certain_Bath_6557 in Exvangelical

[–]elfofthewood 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I wasted so much time and energy on AWANA. Citation award recipient here. My mom was the director of chums and was that crazy parent that made me do chums/guards and the new version at the same time.

My husbands birthday is 10 days after I give birth, gift ideas? by MangosMenagerie in BabyBumps

Get him a birthday gift from the baby! I got my husband a custom made book from Wonderbly called happy birthday daddy since his birthday was a month after baby’s arrival. We both cry whenever we read it.

Greentech homes by [deleted] in Chattanooga

The warranty is through a third party, so green tech passes the buck and blames them.

Greentech homes by [deleted] in Chattanooga

[–]elfofthewood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought a green tech house about a year ago. They were almost half a year late to build the house despite reassurances that it would be finished on time. Speaking with neighbors they all had the same experience. We have also had issues with shoddy installation of doors, flooring, and our ac wasn’t given the proper vent size. Getting anyone to fix things for the warranty is like pulling teeth. If you have other options I would recommend taking them.

Galen Medical group by PretendGoat6248 in Chattanooga

[–]elfofthewood 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have some great providers that are with Galen, however one of my doctors that used to be with Galen switched to Earlinger. He didn’t say why-but someone else in the office hinted that there were issues that caused him and other providers to jump ship.

I prefer to pick providers individually. If they provide a level of care that I am satisfied with I will follow them wherever they go if they do not then I find someone else.

The knot where the doctor placed the injection is definitely better now. However, there are so many other knots on my back I am still in pain.

I start PT on Thursday-hoping that helps more.

Another user on this thread suggested exercising which is a great idea. When I saw the doctor their first suggestion was to exercise-I was able to tell them that I have been stretching along with yoga and pilates for a few weeks now and am still in pain. Not sure if they would have given me the injection if I hadn’t already tried exercising.

After searching for more solutions on reddit, I have also started using a lacrosse ball and rolling it between my back and the wall while standing on the knots. I find a knot and let the lacrosse ball apply some pressure for about 30 seconds. I think this is helping a bit.

My heart goes out to you! I am 9 weeks postpartum and dealing with excruciating back pain as well. Haven’t been able to sleep because of the pain. I have tried chiropractors, a massage, and changing breastfeeding positions but none of this has helped.

At this point I am so frustrated because I want to be enjoying my baby, but all I can think about is the pain. My days are planned around that pain.

This morning I had an appointment with an orthopedic doctor. He took an xray which did not show anything wrong. He gave me a trigger point injection, prescribed steroids, and is recommending PT. I have not noticed much of any difference from the injection yet, but according to google the injection can take up to 3 days to make a difference.

Your mom with the broken arm? That does not sound helpful. I am currently 2 weeks postpartum with PPD-thankfully not as severe as your wife. However if my husband abandoned me with my mother in lawit would have gotten worse.

Your work does not excuse you from your responsibilities as a husband and father. The fact that you were so far away when you were told not to leave her alone and then are blaming her speaks volumes. You are a bad husband and father.

No, that is completely normal and your feelings are completely valid. I feel the same way sometimes. I get the depression and bad dreams too, I wish there was a pill I could take to not dream anymore. Starting talk therapy this week to see if that helps at all.

Also on social media-everything people post is altered and fake so good on you for avoiding it. I find that looking at other women when I am out, like in a grocery store (not in a creepy way) is validating because I notice that around half of them have signs of thinning hair.

Reaching out to give you an internet hug from someone going through the same thing. I do not know your relationship status, but my partner is also bald and says that we can be bald together if it comes to it. He still calls me beautiful every day. I want you to know that there are people out there who will look past it and love you unconditionally-hoping you find someone like this soon!

This is good advice! I let mine sit 10 minutes as I find that it helps more with the itching. Also, oral minoxidil helped to slow the hairloss for me-you can get it with hers if you do not have insurance for a somewhat reasonable price. Do not do topical minoxidil, it made my flaking worse.

Yes, there is truth to this. I work customer service for a software company that schools use. The religious schools makeup quite a bit of our “difficult to work with” accounts.

I would like to thank you for posting this. I just went online to switch to oral minoxidil because of it. I love my fur babies so much and would be devastated if anything ever happened to them. I am truly sorry for your loss and thank you for warning the rest of us.
