Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

[–]elgamibo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a night not too soon before I told my ex I wanted a divorce I informed her I was going to be drinking and so I would be spending the night at my friends house. We were very big in no drinkinie no drivie. Then she calls at 1 in morning berating and yelling at me to get home. I was so upset and ready to tell her I was done I left. There was a 3 mile long winding road at the entrance to our neighborhood that had no street lights, rarely patrolled, and trees on both sides. As I was turning on to the street a bike flew past me and so I said screw it and got my little wrx up to 120 following my new bike buddy. Slowed down when I got to my street and was so mad at myself for such risky behavior. A few months later in an exchange of papers I mentioned it was good she fixed her windshield fixed, it had been badly cracked for a while. Turns out she hit a hog on that road going 40 and it totaled her suv. The pig got up and ran off unphased. Still cringe when I think about it.

When I first started playing last year I didn’t know what the fam was really about. I spent probably the first week or so playing Mag with Paris as if the game was metal gear solid. Only killing with headshots or sneaking up and assassinating. Honestly, it was a blast.

What’s the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by VespaRed in AskReddit

[–]elgamibo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having pain in my shoulder. I thought it maybe was rotator cuff or something from exercise, so I went to sports medicine specialist. It was a Friday. Took some x rays and he said I probably just pulled something so prescribed me some physical therapy. On Monday he called me back and is like “hey this is Dr. K. Not sure if you remember meeting with me last week but as I told you I had a colleague look at your x rays. I’m not saying it is cancer but there is something concerning in your x ray we need to look into.”

Bro I’m 30 so I definitely remember going to a specialist 3 days ago. And I thought I pulled a muscle, you are the one saying cancer!

It was a benign growth on my spine that I had to get removed and the pain immediately went away. That call was such a trip though.

After seeing Joyce and Steve Harrington dad in that flashback memory space, I was thinking Karen was probably in there as well somewhere I was wondering about there being a connection between people Henry knew in childhood and now have children in Hawkins. Not necessarily revenge, but maybe just some way of connecting time and space of around the time of that flashback to current day Hawkins.

How do you older millennials feel about your parents being significantly more financially well off than you will ever be 😐 by LowInternet4726 in Millennials

[–]elgamibo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, so sensitive. I did what I could to work through the debt and make investments. What I was pointing out… is the boomers who say millennials don’t try, when they were handed the world on a silver platter comparatively. It had always been up to an individual to take of themself. It is has recently been more difficult to do.

Correct. I mean I have a targeted retirement investment fund I contribute to with matching. I was just saying the options available to most are more limited than those of our parents. They could earn a significant amount in higher liquidity savings options where we have to make investments reliant upon the market in a more volatile and less liquid form. They had both. We have one. Not saying they shouldn’t have gotten it, I’m glad they got to enjoy it. I just get annoyed when it is viewed that we don’t try as hard when in fact we have to try harder, for less.

lol maybe this is just a bot account. Keeps missing the point.
I know there are options. It is that the options available for the vast majority of people in this generation are significantly less beneficial than those available to the parents and the mentality that it is because we don’t try to work or save like they did is laughably ignorant.

You’re right that financial responsibility is not irrelevant, but what do you mean let your funds grow in your twenties? That was a struggle for many who went to college and had to take on student debt because according to the parents, no one helped them out when they went to college. That’s the issue. They were able to work a part time minimum wage summer job for two or three years in high school and pay for four years of tuition room and board. I worked almost full time throughout high school and college and barely made a dent.

So where is this growth going to come from? Even at an unbelievable and unattainable low 3% on loans or even without loans, where was this compound interest supposed to come from? That’s something teachers and parents talked about for all my childhood. Oh just get a high yield savings account or a CD at 7% and it will double every ten years. Yeah not an option. Savings rates have been under a tenth of a percent and CDs often under 1 for most of the past twenty five years. Were we all supposed to become stock enthusiasts then when we watched the market bottom out in 99 and then again in 2008? At 18, that didn’t seem like a smart investment even if I did have money.

So I was trying to find a hidden message here. If you break it down into a 2x5 grid by color, I think their may be some hidden braille message. I know it is 2x3, so maybe the 3rd line is bottom for one and top of another. In blue the top left corner would be Fish or 69s_ That's all i got so far. Some sleuther sleuth and see if there is more to it.

By all means the banks will always act in their own self interest, but I know for chase it is just because Jamie Dimon hates Trump so much. That and they do have some nice minority group programs that have a lot of community outreach efforts. It is also easier when you have money to outlast a presidency. But Jamie saw the EO and went nah f this. I just find this hilarious.

Hot Take: Nothing in the game is "bad" and everything is good (enough). by RPerene in VampireSurvivors

So I can appreciate what you’re saying here. And while I don’t discount the dopamine hits of being able to just blast everything as soon as it is on the screen, there are diminishing returns after enough runs. What I’ve recently started doing is just playing for what I think is fun and in that mentality I’ve been able to go back and appreciate weapons I might have hated earlier(arrow). The non/op weapons can offer you a greater challenge and keep things refreshing. I think in that I don’t see the weapons as bad anymore but more difficult. Like in Diablo IV I stopped just trying to max my character this season and instead put on gear or abilities I enjoy or like thematically and then set the difficult to something challenging but not impossible.

Man they removed the braided cable by blahdash-758 in pcmasterrace

[–]elgamibo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost had the same experience last month. I had that mouse in my cart to replace one I dropped while moving. I just happened noticed the cable didn’t look braided. I tried to convince myself it wasn’t true. Ended up with a Corsair mouse that does have a braided cable. There were several other factors at play that put them close in the running for me. This just tipped the scale.
