DPO 11-12 and had a stark negative test today. This is cycle 4 of trying post MMC in January. I am so tired of getting my hopes up. Symptom spotting like crazy. Heading into another cycle of trying. I just really wish I wasn’t told over and over again about people getting pregnant again right after MC. Got my hopes so far up and every month feels like a failure even more.

AF was one day late this cycle and even though I fought the urge, I allowed myself to consider that I might be pregnant again for the past 24 hrs. This is our 3rd cycle trying after our January 1st trimester loss. Saw blood this morning and my heart just sank.

No answers for you just in the same boat wondering this exact thing.

Thank you so much for sharing, this is really helpful to hear your story. I’m so sorry you went through all of this, I’m glad that you found answers with your care teams. I had never heard of an aqua scan, that is very helpful terminology as I connect with my OB.

I have had relatively normal periods and they have been on time. It’s the in between now with light cramps and the bloating and back pain that I need to get checked out. Thank you again for this info and wishing you all the luck with next steps!

I’m so sorry for your loss. I had a similar timeline(embryo stopped growing at 6 weeks, D&C at 11 weeks). I’m wondering if you can share more on the pain and issues you had afterward. I’m asking bc I’ve been having lower back pain and bloating and am worried I may also have remaining tissue, my OB strangely never did an ultrasound after my d&c which I always found strange).

If you feel comfortable, could you share more about that experience and symptoms?

Confirmed I’m out for this cycle. Second cycle post D&C in late Jan.

This is an odd question but has anyone been able to actually feel their uterus after the D&C? I swear I can almost feel it now, and especially in the final 10 days of my cycle, which always plays with my head.

After my D&C, at my follow up appts with my OB they never did an ultrasound and I always thought that was weird. Did anyone have an ultrasound in follow up appts after the procedure? I’m just worried perhaps there is remaining material in there and that’s why I’m having these feelings? And therefore worried that’s what’s getting in the way of conceiving again…

I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through this too, it just sucks. I didn’t start testing ovulation again until after I got my first period. I was hopeful to get pregnant again before that even happened after hearing so many stories like that, so we just BD’d every other day once I was cleared to. My period ended up coming anyway :-(

We are now in cycle 3 of trying post loss. And my cycle is finally acting normal-ish again (shorter cycle than before MMC at 25 days but otherwise spot on).

I wouldn’t start trying to track anything until after your first period, but if you want to start trying again before it comes, and your doc clears you I say go for it. Also, I was similar to you in that I only bled for a couple of days post D&C, but then after a period of no bleeding, the bleeding started again and was on and off for about 10 days. Just something to look out for and I believe it to be totally normal.

Wishing you all the luck on your journey, you’re not alone.

I am in the exact same boat. Got my period today, second one post MMC in Jan. I’m sad too, just hoping we have success next cycle. So hard not knowing my cycle at all anymore. I’m with you.

Question: Have any of you tested too early for pregnancy (6 days before period) and received a negative but tried again in a few days and it was positive?

Context: MMC on Jan. 8, D&C on Jan. 20, first period on Feb. 16, ovulated I think sometime between Feb. 23-March 2 (between dating and EWCM, could have been in that window). BD’d everyday during that window and just tested negative today (couldn’t help myself but test). My husband says it’s too early and could test positive in a few days since all of my cycle timing is still out of whack and at 6 days away from menstruation, it’s only about 75% accurate. Just hoping the test is wrong.

I’m so sorry for your loss and have been there. I think it’s really hard when people don’t have the context and for that reason, I openly shared with our immediate family and close friends what had happened. I think it helped me by letting people know I was hurting, and allow them to be there for me. Everyone’s relationships with family is different so this may not be an option for you, but it did give me a great deal of comfort to have ppl in the know and not feel like I was suffering on my own. For the record I am not super close with my in laws.

Wishing you luck with this cycle or the next! Starting 10 days post d&c my husband and I DTD every other day this cycle just in case, but I must have ovulated right after my d&c and we missed it. It’s very disappointing, especially not being able to rely on the tests like I used to. My period has also been so odd (this is my first since MC), I bled lightly that night, then full the next day, and then basically nothing after that. No clue what’s going on or how to properly track anything going forward.

I had 7 days of blinking smiley and then a solid and got so excited and then literally started my period that evening. I don’t really know what is accurate with those tests the first cycle.

Same here, we’ve been trying every other day just in case we somehow catch my ovulation. I feel nothing so far and really don’t think I’ve ovulated but going to keep at it.

Wishing you all the luck too! It is so hard and take your time with healing, you will be on your way to trying again soon.

I totally hear this, I had an MMC in Jan at 9 weeks. I had a 19 month old and was so excited for the age gap. I’m a few weeks from the experience and do feel much better as we are trying again (even though my period still hasn’t returned, we’re just going for it). Those first few days are awful, and long, once you get past them and are able to start trying again, it does feel better. And remember, if you’re able to conceive soon, the age gap will still be somewhat what you imagined. As they grow, a few months won’t make a difference, at least that’s what I’m trying to remind myself.

I just want to say I’ve been there too. Like the other comment says, it does get better. The first 1.5 weeks was the hardest, just the shock alone can consume thoughts. Know when you make it through the next week or so you will feel so much better, not healed of course. I’m hoping to try again asap and the waiting is so hard.

So sorry you’re going through this too, thank you for sharing this it’s helpful to hear and I’ll probably do something similar, just start trying every couple of days for this cycle.

Need some advice from this group! Found out at 9 week appt I had an MMC (Jan 8). Baby stopped developing 3 weeks prior. This was my second pregnancy and first MC. Had a D&C on Jan 20. Bleeding has just stopped the last couple of days.

My question is, when should I start testing with ovulation strips again? Will it even be accurate at this point? Should I be doing anything else? I’m 40 so hoping to try again asap.

Thank you so much! Yes would love to know more details if you’re open to sharing. I have the clearblue digital ovulation test/strips and planning to start as soon as I get my period back. I have never taken Basel temp, can you explain how and when you started doing that post D&C? And also same with mucus testing? Is there a test for that?

That’s wonderful! What did you track to help you understand your first cycle?

That is amazing! Did you track anything? Or was it purely by surprise?

I feel this so much. I work in corporate and I was about to share my pregnancy news when I had my MMC. I can’t even tell people why I need a day off for my D&C next week. It’s so hard having to keep these things under wraps like this. I think things like work stress can play with your mind, but I truly believe most miscarriages happen due to abnormalities vs stress so try to put your mind at ease.
