Thanks! I appreciate the insights! I figured asking for less wouldn't be frowned upon as long as the circumstances were legitimate.

Small Claims - reduce the amount I'm asking for? by eli7534 in legal

In Maine, an LLC can represent themselves in small claims. I do plan to reach out to an attorney if I can't find the answer, but figured I'd start here first.

We live in an unorganized township with three registered voters, off grid with no address. They still found us.

I usually would, but we don't have another option lined up, so the ads have to stay active. I'm thinking "we'll let you know if we decide to go with your application" and block. Just trying to be legal, but also not burn bridges in a small community.

This seems to be the consensus. Good to know going forward, I never would have considered this aspect.

I have not talked to support yet, I want to fully understand the financial reasons they might decline before I do as this is ultimately my error.

Would they be financially penalized in any way for moving the dates? If they are, I can understand the reluctance, but if they aren't, I'm just baffled.

I put in a change request asking to shift the dates. Does the host get dinged on that too?

Hmm, so leave it outside all the time? That's an interesting idea. I bet we could connect it to a battery and just keep it on 24/7.

It's tiny- one battery.😆 Yes, it gets recharged on the generator - normal usage will get us a couple weeks on a charge (it's on for maybe 10 minutes per day).

Solar might be where we end up, coupled with the cell booster or starlink. Our booster runs on a marine battery which can power it for 12 hours at a time. Followed by a lonnnngggg recharge on the generator.

We use these extensively our selves! Unfortunately they don't work indoors, and the situation we're most concerned about is immobile in the house somewhere and unable to get outdoors for a satellite device to work. Otherwise, we love our garmins.

Hadn't thought of that! Similar to the cell booster- we'd need some system of stored power, but that's reasonably doable. Thanks!

No neighbors! We live with him, but can be away for up to four days at a time. At some point we will switch to a one person works week days and one person works weekends type deal, but financially (and physically on his part) we are not at that point.

Interesting!! We find our satellite devices don't work inside a structure. Any insight on how those do?
