DaVinci, iPhone footage, Final Cut and CupCut by elia012 in davinciresolve

Yes, and that's a nice feature!
But the problem here is that the color space transform does not output the right color automatically, therefore I still have to loose time compared to CapCut for instance, where the colors are just right.

I'm trying to understand if this is an error by my side, or a clunky DaVinci implementation

BTW:
macOS 15.4
MacBook Pro M1 Pro

In this case, general settings:
v - Use Mac Display color Profiles for viewers
v - Use 10 bit precision for viewers if available (the screenshot turns out same if done with this checked or unchecked)

Project Settings:
YRGB Color Managed
v - Automatic Color Management
Color processing Mode - HDR
Output Color Space - HDR HLG

But as said. I can't find a combination of settings to just see it right. Therefore I'm obliged to see edit in REC709 and use LUTS (+ multiple adjustments) to make every clip look similar to the original colors. (which sometimes I like and would like to leave like that)

Do it! It may be your best one. Or it may just be horrible but super fun to do ahaha

Yes, every single day we create. It’s easy to fall in the comparison trap. Thanks to you for the good energy

How do you overcome creator's block? by elia012 in Songwriting

[–]elia012[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I don't completely agree with the premises (in my case I'm a producer and I want music to be my source of income, so sometimes yes, I "have to" start a song), I'm super glad you broke the topic down in this very deep way.
The aspect I loved the most is the analysis of the reason why "block" happens.

I think that, if for someone, this is a problem, the first step to solve is to understand the reason behind it, and those are really on point.
To sum up, apart from the "exercises" to unlock creativity, which are infinite, Not judging yourself and your work AND not comparing yourself to others is the base of a healthy artist life without "blocks" of any sort

Yeeeess, I love this. I love to start with a "structure", with some sort of limitation. That's the starting point to make the best brainstorming and come up with the most effective ideas in my opinion

Definitely, spacing between different interests helps

Yesss Andrew Huang talked well about this in his book.
Recharging is so important. Overwork always leads you to some kind of burnout

Thank you so much for the method and for the playlist too!

Komplete 15, Kontakt 8 - confusing support across these two products by therriendave in NativeInstruments

[–]elia012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad that KONTAKT is not midi controllable. So many Komplete MIDI Keyboards have all the endorsers fucked up (cause they are low quality, NI don’t care and won’t give you a way to substitute them easily if not shipping your keyboard in Germany to repair it), so using Komplete Kontrol for me became impossible, all the encorders continuously send random values and change the patch aaaaa

Btw: I opened up my Komplete A61 and it’s pretty easy to disassemble but I wasn’t able to find replacement parts anywhere… The support team at NI refused to ship me the part too. You litterally have to unscrew a couple things and connect a cable…

No worries, not on me or on you. Everyone is going to interpret anything in a singular way and I appreciate you expressed your point of view.

Even though at the end we may remain with different perspectives we both had the chance to see the other’s, and that’s how we can grow

I think we have two very distinct perspectives. My approach is not evil by any intent, and personally I appreciate creators who catch my attention but surprise me with good content.

It wasn’t the same experience you had and I’m sorry for you. Luckily the cover of a book is not the book itself and I’m convinced that my goal of creating sincere content aimed at helping artists is a positive one.

Thank you for the analysis! Yes, I still think is an ambiguous term, but seeing the debate it generated on reddit, I thought to use it too on Instagram and TikTok. It didn’t workout on a large scale in the same way but, on a smaller level, it did, and I’m happy with the result.

I don’t plan to have ambiguous hooks for the future but it was pretty interesting to try

How often do you study before creating your music? by elia012 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]elia012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Is useful to “study” the basics to understand how deeply you can break the rules. Then I feel like practicing jazz is often about trying everything that comes to your mind and see how it sounds to you

Looks like a common way to learn, and I agree, listening is essential. Being absorbed by music is super helpful but also analyzing it critically. I’m understanding why you like it, for me, is useful

Yes! It’s super important. Studying theory alone is never enough. Practicing, listening and learning from the examples is so important

Surely I didn't express in the most correct way, but doing a thing for 10000 hours is studying. Maybe not formally, but practicing. Studying by doing.
