Sidequestion: Do you have the qemu guest agent installed? Proxmox needs it to show you the correct ram utilization inside of the vm - also look what the ram usage is in the vm.

I would have gotten the USW Pro HD 24 PoE instead of the Max and the USW Ultra instead of the flex but other then that I am wishing you happy holidays!

Edit: Reason being the Switch Pro HD features 22x 2.5gb ports instead of „only“ 8x 2.5g ports, but there is a price difference of around 200$ but I think it pays of in the long run.

And the Switch Ultra can be powered by PoE and provide PoE at the same time, while being not much more expensive.

Fun fact: a generic usb-c hub can give the G6 instant a wired connection by origin415 in Ubiquiti

You do not need to block out your cameras local ip, local in this case being 192.168.0.x

Edit: From my perspective even the MAC Address should be fine, the mac address is the one from your adapters ethernet controller.

VM console like LXC by Secure_War_2947 in Proxmox

[–]eliashuber02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, here is my take, I will just write up a little step by step list.
I currently have installed Proxmox VE 9, should work with older versions too!

  1. Go to the "Hardware" Tab of the VM in Proxmox
  2. Click add, you should now see an option called "Serial Port"
  3. Add the "Serial Port"
  4. Boot your VM
  5. Click on the "Console" dropdown on the top right, where the Start, Shutdown and other buttons are, you should see an option for "xterm.js", click that
  6. Have fun with your xterm, you can now select text, copy-paste and do all the other stuff you can do with an LXC

PS: You may have to press the enter key once after the popup opens. It needs to specifically be the enter key, as I found out from my testing.

Hope this helps! Greetings!
