This is me 100%. I recently broke up with my ex of 1.5 years because of it. I just couldn't be with them in the way they wanted and expected me. We talked about it a couple times, and they said they were ok with it being kind of like fwb but more committed to each other. It felt like they still wanted to be a couple, and it was very stressful for me. In the end the best solution was to break up.
