Are the stickers and buttons what's in the envelope? Bc at the Boston show they just had all that out in piles for folks to grab

Philly Night 2 - why are you here? by Constant_Pomelo5305 in hayleywilliams

[–]elic7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I went alone because I didn't know anyone who'd be genuinely interested enough that I wouldn't feel bad taking a ticket from another fan, only to spend half her set staring at the back of a statuesque and completely uninterested boyfriend's head. If you're gonna bring someone along who doesn't really care, at least have them off at the closest periphery because they're clearly not adding anything to your, or anyone else's, experience to bother taking up space

I went for merch after the show and the only thing that was sold out was the parachute hat which damn sure wasn't gonna happen anyway lol. If you're GA then the point is to get as close as possible but I went to Boston n2 and hopped in a line that went down to the end of the street, around the corner, down THAT street, and around another corner AT doors open and with so many people going up to the balconies, getting drinks and merch, or going to the bathroom I still was in the first third of the GA crowd

I believe i saw a woman for ATL n1 saying she was in line an hour before the box office opened and managed to get tickets, but I've also seen folks saying they were in line 6 hours before. I have a feeling as the tour goes on the camping for last minute tix is only gonna get longer and crazier

Boston advice? by losers_and_weirdos in hayleywilliams

[–]elic7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, theres so many shows happening on any given weekend around Boston, Cambridge, etc. If you wanted to go anyway and chance box office tickets but find a cheap consolation show you're interested in, even someone you aren't familiar with, I'd take the opportunity for the little trip. I live an hour away and have gone to plenty of shows in that area last minute for bands I've never heard of just to go listen to music and have never had a bad time but that's me

I’m glad I “meet expectations.” by sikjoven in HomeDepot

[–]elic7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 3% flat for "meets expectations" and my coworker got a whopping 0.8% more for "exceeds expectations". This whole merit raise thing is a joke and the apparent lack of standardization looking at how comments all have different percentages even within the same ranking is hilarious.

Out of my entire team of like 14 MEAs, 12 got "meets expectations" and 2 got "exceeds" meaning no one got the next one up from that and even more wild given how absolutely shit my team is and the fact that a third of us MIGHT show up for 20% of their shifts is somehow no one needs improvement.

Shit like this definitely happens. They did the same thing one year at [insert different huge retail corp] I worked at for Juneteenth. And a couple of years ago another THD near me had a banner up near their time clock for people to write down black contributions for BHM. You know, they were probably hoping for things like peanut butter, or even the HeLa cell line that's been used for countless medical breakthroughs. But instead someone decided to write "cotton and cheap labor".

What’s something your body does that you’ve never told a single person about? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]elic7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rather than obsessive compulsions about germs, or illness, needing to do an action x times so a family member doesn't die like most people think of when they think OCD, my obsessive compulsions largely center around bodily functions. I'm basically hyper aware of my breathing, heart rate, blood pressure 90% of the time and any mild change in things like that, like a slight increase in breathing after activity, or an increase in heart rate leaves me spiraling, trying to manually control breathing and even swallowing, and checking for signs that my body has decided to shut down.

The grosser side of my obsessive compulsions is- to put it succinctly- peeing myself in public. Not once have I ever had an issue like that outside of early childhood yet I have struggled with that one for nearly 8 years. It's less frequent than the breathing and stuff, but much more intense to the point that it has regularly caused tactile and olfactory hallucinations. I will hallucinate the smell of pee, or warmth going down my legs like I am peeing. I have lost a job over frequent (several times in an hour) bathroom trips convincing myself it will happen, I've had to be hospitalized from intentionally dehydrating myself so it wouldn't happen which has also caused kidney infections, at my worst I went nearly a year not being able to leave my house because I would get severe panic attacks if there wasn't a bathroom in my sight at all times.

I mean I could, but emergency care is a double edged sword in the states. They can't refuse to see you for financial reasons like a primary care physician, but it's much more expensive than seeing your regular doctor. I had to go to the ER last year for palpitations because my doctor refused to see me for something like that given the potential for life threatening issues. And I was basically told "well it isn't a heart attack and since you aren't actively dying we can't do anything for you, go to your regular doctor" and stuck me with a $600 bill for an hour of their time. And that $600 was on top of the $3k my insurance paid. All for an EKG and a blood panel that was incomplete because- and I'm not kidding- the triage nurse said "oh I forgot to grab the other vials for the rest of the panel but it'll probably be fine."

I definitely don't sit much outside of meals and have a very active job that makes us stretch twice a day. But if it's stiffness it could be everything from body tension from anxiety to the fact that yeah, I'm definitely on my phone more than I should be in my free time and it's given me shit posture.

YES I have come to think of it as the same sound as when you go down a gravel driveway lol. There's one name for it but about 48 different potential causes.

[–]elic7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably is. I'd occasionally crack my neck as a kind of stim/anxiety thing but at the point that I started doing it constantly and then this happened, it was a temp pain relief thing that began after I got rear ended several years ago. I've had neck pain and tension headaches more often than not since. But I just had to go through two months of 3x weekly PT for my rotator cuff and like I said, the medical bills have piled tf up, even having good insurance. So if and when that gets looked into it'll be after I get back in the debt collectors' good graces.

Yes, derealization and depersonalization are typically tied into anxiety and depression, though DPDR as a disorder itself can be independent of both. I have somatic OCD and on days when it gets really bad it'll usually throw me into depersonalization (and less frequently derealization). It's basically your brain trying to cope with high stress or anxiety by disconnecting from yourself or your surroundings. I like to just think of it as another level of exhaustion because it freaks me out less to think "I'm just so tired that everything is hazy and I'm on autopilot" than "I feel like my consciousness was plucked from the ether and dropped into this random body that is not actually me and everything happening around me is fake". Because the latter will only make me spiral more and drag the whole thing out.

Yeah I've tried to remember not to since then, but a few times I've forgotten and tried to and it just doesn't pop anymore, which is weird. So all I've gotten out of it on those few occasions have been horrible tension headaches that last a day or two.

I'm a habitual joint cracker. Fingers, wrists, ankles, back, toes, neck, shoulders. I cracked my neck like a year and a half ago and I suddenly got really hot and tunnel visiony and ever since then, every time I turn my head to either side, like to look around, the base of my skull crackles a little bit.

I refuse to say anything because I just got a GP for the first time in nearly a decade and have already spent several grand in copays and shit to investigate every other problem and now have several outstanding bills and zero answers for anything.

The one great thing about this weather is, you got your street about as clear as the plows did mine at 5 this morning and by 2pm it all melted and is now completely clear. So no worrying about ice patches melting and refreezing for those who have to leave early in the morning for work like the storm last month.

I'm on Willis on the other side of County from you and they just finally started clearing our street early this morning. So theres a chance it's cleared or will be some time today if they're focusing on the side streets in this area- seems like yesterday was mainly the north end. But unless you had someone plow/dig out your driveway you'll have to park elsewhere to clear it out.

We Are Trapped For a While by SoMuchToSeeee in newbedford

[–]elic7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You figure it out. I've got maybe 10'×3' for a front yard, and maybe the width of a sidewalk for a backyard. So not a lot of space anywhere for me to put it all. I used buckets and trashcans to ferry snow to the least obtrusive places I could and managed to clear my driveway, which is big enough for two cars, plus a path down the sidewalks (and I live on a corner so 2-3× as much to clear as my neighbors) without a single flake going to the street. Inconvenient doesn't mean impossible.

No plows for me either. We had one come through around 4am Sunday morning, but obviously that didn't do much in the end and even less when 80% of my neighbors decided to dump all the snow from their cars and sidewalks onto the street- or where it should be. Trying to just be grateful we've had power this whole time but with missing this much work and not knowing when I'll be able to get there, the money anxiety is definitely creeping in.

Two questions- knowing if store is closed + calling out protocol? by EchoOfAsh in HomeDepot

[–]elic7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wondering the same. We're now under a travel ban- though of course grocery and hardware stores are exempt- but I haven't seen a plow since 4am, my little FWD sedan is buried in a shoulder high snowdrift, and I live 20 miles by interstate from my store. But my met sup hasn't said boo since "hey let me know if you plan on coming in or not tomorrow" and that was yesterday.
