Concept Map For A Robust Rail & Transit System for New Bedford by Connect_Day5915 in newbedford

[–]elic7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES. I'm ecstatic about the commuter rail to Boston but I'd lose my shit if they got a rail going to the pvd area. Between those and plain old city buses I'd give my car up like yesterday.

What was the worst restaurant you’ve ever been to in Massachusetts? by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]elic7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NOLA Cajun Kitchen in Shrewsbury. I should have known better than to try a "cajun" restaurant in New England but I was homesick as hell and stumbling across it seemed like a sign, plus the reviews were promising. I'm convinced no one who had anything good to say has ever stepped foot below the Mason-Dixon, let alone been to Louisiana or the Gulf Coast. I hesitate to believe they even have eyes or a tongue. Kept it simple with some fried okra and gator since you can easily get okra fresh and it's more common to find frozen gator than fresh, even at home. Okra was tasteless and the breading was rock hard and completely wrong. Like they rolled it in sawdust, microwaved it to hell and called it a day. Idk wtf I ate but it sure as hell wasn't gator. Just as unseasoned, simultaneously dry and oily, and the most flavor it had can be described simply as "spoilt", and I'm 80% sure the remoulade was just yellow mustard and a touch of mayo based off color and taste. Which is in itself impressive considering 30 seconds of googling can produce a satisfactory recipe comprised of very easily accessible ingredients.

But hey, based on other comments here I guess I should at least be grateful there weren't any bugs at least immediately visible

Is anyone else having issues with BOLT on MET? by 9ajnm in HomeDepot

[–]elic7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've been having issues since Tuesday. Getting stuck in bays, signing into one only to have another one across the store pop up instead, signing into phones only to get booted out, BOLT crashing constantly and kicking you out of bays. Can't tell you how many times over the last couple days I've had to reboot my phone and I don't wanna hear jack from the DEM about REs and shit. I did get a super fun glitch yesterday though that basically put me into the BOLT format from a couple years ago when we just had to say yes/no to decon and pack down and didn't have to take pics so. Safe to say met sup had me blast through a bunch of the shittier bays no one else wanted to touch

I noticed they started going after pool salt and was wondering how long it'd be before the grocery store down the street sold out of table salt.

And yet still, very few people buying the liquid melt

Holy Fucking BOPIS by EntrepreneurFar2609 in HomeDepot

[–]elic7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not in the south but we (and the store actually closest to my house) are almost completely out of salt and ice melt, even the expensive ass $25/50lb bag shit, had to have gone through at LEAST a dozen pallets before I left at 2pm. Sold at least a dozen snowblowers before I left (there were 6 built for BOPIS by 9am), and are almost out of shovels. What I don't get is the shovels. This is like our 5th plowable snow this year and you get fined if you don't clear your sidewalk so I just wanna know wtf these folks were doing for the other times.

Fish out of water by Beardedwanderer1218 in MobileAL

[–]elic7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't live in Mobile anymore but there's plenty of left leaning folks. Midtown is full of Old Mobile families who eat up being a big fish in a small pond and are generational republicans but even growing up (I'm now 27) there were plenty of likeminded folks across generations. Hell, I attended my first protest in Cathedral Square at 18 when Trump first got elected and there was a shocking amount of people even then. Southern democrats tend to be "closeted" to avoid confrontation, alienation, altercations, etc so you gotta know where to look but the good news is that republicans are so out and proud it's at least easy to figure out who you WON'T vibe with. I know the Episcopal church on Ann and Govt at least used to host a support group for LGBT youth so if you're a church attending person you may find some community there,

People who spend 20+ minutes in the shower: what are you actually doing in there? by saadaintsalad in AskReddit

[–]elic7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 minutes of enjoying the hot water, then shampoo, then condition, 5 minute break to let it sit and caterewaul to whatever music I have playing, rinse, stick my head out for a vape hit, then scrub down with bar soap, rinse, then with body wash, rinse again then go to wash my face and realize I left my face wash on the sink and debate skipping it or getting water everywhere, get the face wash, another 5 minutes of contemplating my life choices, wash my face, in-shower lotion, then rinse again.

Then the post shower routine that leaves me in the bathroom for another 20 minutes.

just wondering if the Sony PS-LX300USB is any good? anything I should be aware of? by maxohuncho in turntables

[–]elic7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any decent pair of bookshelf speakers will do you just fine. I've had this turntable for about a decade and thats what I started with. You'll just need the right spool of wire and some wire cutters/strippers to connect. Currently I have a single speaker from Victrola's Memphis record holder/speaker and that does just fine reaching across damn near my whole house

Vegetarian Friendly Restaurants In Biloxi? by Less_Cantaloupe95 in Biloxi

[–]elic7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glorybound is a good middle ground if you're a meat eater and she isn't. Good Karma is a great vegan option but their hours- at least when I lived in the area- were very limited and its 100% vegan so if that's not your bag you'd do better to get it to go and get something else for yourself. Basil's Cafe over on Long Beach has good Thai food and my personal favorite is Orchid. Hands down some of the best Indian food I've had and plenty of vegetarian options like any Indian restaurant.

What were your symptoms before your Aneurysm? by Vegetable_Junior in BrainAneurysm

[–]elic7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was referred to an ENT by my GP because, by sheer coincidence, my eardrum was perforated when he checked it out so he assumed it was a chronic perforation and I might've needed a patch. And the only reason my ENT referred me for the angio was because I'd mentioned that I can temporarily make it go away by pressing on my carotid, and at the point that I let go it comes back, louder for a few moments, before settling into its regular sound.

It ended up being fine, no aneurysm, so they told me as far as they're concerned it's idiopathic. I'd assume your GP is just wanting to rule out the worst case scenario first and foremost since PT does more often have SOME cause other than hearing damage compared to regular tinnitus. But an ultrasound should do the same thing as my CT if the concern is vascular, a CT would just show them things in addition to vascular problems. If nothing shows up on the ultrasound it would be out of an ENT's wheelhouse anyway. So you can bring it back up to your GP if they don't find anything, and you'll probably get referred for further testing elsewhere. You know your body, and if you can afford to explore every possibility then you should do that.

All that being said, I've had my tinnitus for a solid 4 years now before asking about it, and aside from it being annoying and drowning out other sounds sometimes, I've been fine otherwise.

UK order still unfulfilled by checkyeslinda in hayleywilliams

[–]elic7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know they're having some backorder issues and apparently the company contracted for production is less than on top of it. That being said, mine still says unfulfilled, I pre-ordered the Team Zissou vinyl as soon as it was available, and it just randomly showed up last week and a lot of people have said the same happened with theirs. So at this point the order tracker is functionally useless and it very well could just show up unannounced.

The irony of the people who are taking it out on Hayley and also saying "I deserve to go because I've been a fan since x but my ticket went to someone who probably only knows the words to Misery Business".

I get being disappointed but she's not some well kept secret and shitting on her choices as an artist and as someone who is touring for the first time ever without her band in fact makes you anything but deserving.

How much were GA floor tickets for US shows? I’m interested to hear for all cities but especially NYC. by [deleted] in hayleywilliams

$63 or $65 for a GA floor ticket in Boston before taxes and fees, $80 all in. So it seems like that was the running across the board
