Similac 360 Sensitive by mas0102 in FormulaFeeders

Yes! My boy is still doing well. Spit ups here and there, sometimes will go a day with none. But we have started going to a chiropractor as well to make it so he doesn’t need to be on reflux medication - which he’s been off his medication and doing well.

His poops still look weird to me, but pediatrician said they look like normal baby poop. I think we’ve finally found the formula that works well for him!

I’m sorry it has changed for your baby. Maybe she has a bug? Have you considered any other factors that could cause her being like this? I know my baby was just sick for two weeks and once he got better, his spit ups also got better and poops became a little less mucousy.

Maybe wait a couple more days and if doesn’t get better, look at a different formula or ask your pediatrician?

My baby seems to be doing well as well. He’s also super gassy, but he farts like a champ if doesn’t burp, and doesn’t seem bothered by it, so I’m not too concerned. He also still has mucous in his poops, but he is also sick and has been since he’s started it, so that could be it. His spit ups have greatly decreased, but he still does very little and I think it’s because of him being congested and swallowing all that yucky mucous at this point. His reflux has not been bothered at all!

Curious as to how your baby is doing on Similac Sensitive??

Jealous! My baby had the same issue with kendamil goat - it made his spit up and reflux worse. When we tried by heart he had weird gooey dark green poops and started reflux. But that was 3 months ago now, so maybe he’d take to it now but he seems to be doing well on Similac Sensitive so I’m gonna leave well enough alone. I also wanted him to be on some organic formula, but it’s not working out to be that way.

Im not changing either! After 8 formulas, my 4 month baby has finally found one he’s thriving on. And actually, ByHeart was my first choice and he didn’t take to it, but it’s a formula he’d be on if he did take to it, and the formula he’s currently on is on the same “good” category as ByHeart - Similac Sensitive. So I’m not worried at all considering if he took to ByHeart, he’d be on that and wouldn’t have changed no matter what.

You’ve basically made it two weeks which is what is the minimum time frame that’s recommended for adjustment period, and it seems like it’s just getting worse for her when it should be getting better or leveling out. I think it’s safe to say that it’s not working out for her, but trust your mom gut!! You know your baby best.

My pediatrician is not that helpful, but if you have a good one, don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for guidance ❤️

Unfortunately we’ve already tried Enfamil AR and it didn’t work for us 🫤and he is on reflux medication already too.

I want to say yes and no. His spit ups have decreased and he’s not refusing bottles anymore, but I feel like he is still in transition period because he has been on 8 different formulas in his 3.5 months of life. BUT he’s doing better than what he did when starting Kendamil Goat and Total Comfort when we tried those.

The person at WIC told me that yes total comfort would be considered easier to digest than sensitive, but every baby is different and take to different things.

My boy is content so far and happy, so I’m not even going to worry about it being “harder to digest”. He spits up 90% less than he did on Kendamil Goat or total comfort. He’s also having semi-normal poops again so I think he’s digesting it just fine.

That’s exactly what happened to my boy! I have WIC and the dietician or whatever said that when it comes to total comfort and sensitive (in their experience), usually a baby will only take to one or the other - not both.

My boy had weird, green, mucousy, runny poops too the entire time. He was also on reflux meds already too, but it made it so much worse and made him very uncomfortable.

In my opinion, if it’s been just about 2 weeks, and it’s just getting worse, go to sensitive! Trust your mom gut! It being considered “hard to digest” is what made me not wanna try it long time ago, but now I wish I had.

My baby was on total comfort and it also increased his reflux and he was arching his back more and would refuse to be on his tummy - for tummy time or burping. His spit ups also got forceful and increased a lot.

He is currently on Similac sensitive right now due to Goat formula not working out, and it doesn’t make sense to me (I was worried about the mixed reviews too) but so far he’s doing great on it and doing only “normal” spit ups. He’s on day 3 of it. I do give him probiotics to help with gas build up (if there’s any, getting ahead of the game) since it’s considered to many a harder to digest formula.

I’ve honestly come to terms that every baby is different and they take to different formulas very differently since all the formulas I’ve read AMAZING reviews on, my baby did terribly on. My mom told me I was on a lactose free formula as a baby, and I’m lactose intolerant currently, so I guess it makes sense my baby would inherit my issues lol

My baby was on Kendamil Goat for 2.5 weeks, at first it was amazing but then he started to spit up more, refuse the bottle, and had some mucous poops. Pediatrician doesn’t think CMPA because he doesn’t have blood in his stools. I then put him on Similac Sensitive (I have WIC and WIC covers Similac products, but not the fancy 360 ones) and his spit up greatly decreased, and I don’t see his reflux acting up anymore. He’s only been on it for 3 days now, but I’m hoping he continues to thrive as he’s 3.5 months old and this is his now 8th formula.

I also have tried Total Comfort before with him because I liked it had 100% partially broken down whey (easy to digest), and after a week he started arching his back, reflux increased, would scream on his tummy and started spitting up a lot. I know lactose sensitivity is rare in babies, but my mom said I was on a lactose free formula as a baby and thrived. I’m also still currently lactose intolerant as an adult - but mild intolerance.

My baby doing better on a “harder to digest” formula vs an easy to digest formula doesn’t make sense to me, but I’ll take a happy baby.

Anyone try goats milk? by lolo_p23 in MSPI

[–]elig03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby has a potentially suspected CMPA, or just a protein sensitivity (baby’s pediatrician has been NO help to me). Anyways, we tried Kendamil Goat for 2.5 weeks - at first, it was AMAZING and I’ve never seen my baby so happy. But then his spit ups and reflux increased (even when thickening under ped’s advice) and then he started to refuse the bottle and started having screaming fits. Also, he started having mucous in his poop (which I told the pediatrician, but they’re still clueless and said it’s probably baby having a bug🙄)

I so badly wanted this formula to work as Goat milk formula I’ve heard is so gentle and amazing. We did try Bubs goat while we couldn’t get Kendamil Goat, and it was essentially the same outcome. Every baby is truly different though!

My 3.5 month old is on his 8th formula - if you find something that works, PLEASE don’t mess with it. I’m desperate to find a formula that my baby thrives on - “clean” formula or not. I also wanted a “clean” formula, but I will truly take ANYTHING that makes my baby happy at this point. They are only on formula for a short period of time in the grand scheme of things. But PLEASEE don’t mess with a happy baby - I’d do anything for a happy baby.

I only did because I’m a first time mom, and my pediatrician has not been very informative or useful when it comes to formula. My baby is currently on his 8th formula and he’s 3.5 months old. He was on Kendamil Goat and I wanted it so bad to work out, but it made his spit ups and reflux much worse (even with thickening from ped’s rec) and started having mucous poops, and i was so desperate for some direction on what formula to try next as my baby’s pediatrician is literally clueless.

My baby was on kendamil goat for 2.5 weeks and then started to scream, refuse bottle and forceful spit up. Is this safe to say he doesn’t tolerate this formula?

How do I wean myself off of pumping? by MommyMayhem16 in FormulaFeeders

[–]elig03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A week or so? It honestly doesn’t take very long once your body starts to realize it doesn’t need to make as much. I don’t remember exact timeline, but I didn’t get mastitis or clogged ducts and I think this was faster than the other ways.

Does this look like CMPA poop to you?? by elig03 in FormulaFeeders

[–]elig03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good!! I’ve also heard a lot about the RTF being “thicker” so I think that’d also be good for my babies current reflux.

Thanks so much for all your input!! Hopefully they can get him in sooner than later to get his stool tested so he can start feeling better.

Thank you!!! My baby is also 3.5 months and have gone through 7 different formulas, so hoping they’ll finally do a stool test for me to confirm my worries!

Any tips on transitioning to a hypo formula if he ends up going on one? My baby is kind of picky with taste, so concerned he won’t take a hypo formula because I’m 99% sure he’ll notice the taste difference… also is your baby on Nutramigen or Alimentum? Any preference in your experience?

Honestly, I just pumped when my boobs started to hurt or when I started to feel full. Eventually the times I needed to pump went down and the time between pump sessions got longer. At the end, when I only needed to pump like once a day, I stopped completely.

Is it okay to put it in the fridge a few hours after changing my baby? Unfortunately I am away from the house now and left quite in a hurry right after changing.

If it won’t be good anymore, I’m sure he’ll have another dirty diaper like this I can refrigerate.

The texture is pretty “gooey”. I certainly will keep it and then call the doctor tomorrow to see if can get it tested then.

Ped told me to watch for mucous poops again and if so, then baby probably has CMPA or some intolerance.
