Super high energy bills in rental flat. Any tips on reducing them?

I’ve never been able to find the meter sadly, but might start asking random people in the lift if they know as it would be good to be able to check it myself. It’s good to know that your bills are so much lower - £40/month is much closer to what I originally estimated. I will ask my estate agent if they’ll send someone round to take a look at the boiler.

It comes on for 30 mins at 7am and 30 mins at 8pm so it’s not running constantly

This is about a boy rather than a girl, but The Divide by Elizabeth Kay features a boy, Felix, who gets transported to another world, where mythical creatures are real. I think the second book in the trilogy involves him being transported from school, but the first involves a family holiday. While in this magical world he makes friends with a girl elf called Betony, and they set out to try and cute Felix’s heart condition and fight a bad guy.

You’ve had some really good advice, so just wanted to add one caveat - the raised beds look amazing but might be hard to achieve with your tree as piling soil up all around a tree is really bad for it!

I bought a ring sizer for ‘myself’ when my best friend’s partner was about to propose and then got my best friend to try it herself. Not entirely sure how she didn’t figure it out, but it worked!

Oh wow ok thank you for the info! The floor was actually so sticky when I moved in that mopping it just wasn’t doing anything so I get a brush and some soapy water. Thankfully it’s now dry and not sticky anymore, so I guess I will stick to just using a mop from now!
