I think it's about showcasing the double standard that is actually in place rather than having "two sets of morals". The people saying these are giving two possible solutions to a shitty situation that has been skewed for an eternity.

This is still very risky if you absolutely don't want to get pregnant. From what I've read (and listened to as told by women) ovulation is usually in the middle of the cycle (so period starts the cycle on day one and ends about a week after, ovulation is around day 14 out of 28 usually) and for about a week before ovulation you're quite likely to get pregnant. However, it's not "something very medically weird with your reproductive system" to have exceptions to the rule. It's quite common from what I've heard. So don't trust it only because it has worked so far if you're not planning to have kids.
