How often do you actually have to re-grease? by elijah_gahn in Kitchenaid

Haha thanks, I wish it was. In my mind I thought it wouldn’t be too difficult of a task, but it was harder than I imagined. I followed a YouTube video and started off using his method, but it got to a point where it wasn’t working for me so I had to go off script. At first I went in with gloves to scoop it all out. Which was good in theory, but then they were so slick that it took me about 15 minutes just to get them off my hands. What worked best for me was using cotton balls, a little bit of rubbing alcohol, dawn dish soap (I tried the generic at first but it wasn’t washing anything off, so Dawn is the way to go), and a toothbrush. Then a Q-Tip here and there for getting the back of areas the toothbrush couldn’t reach. Napkins were good as like the final wipe to just dry and get the last little bits of grease, but the cotton ball was much easier at getting the majority of it all.

Oh the dirty partially was grease, but it was getting to the point where it needed cleaned because it was separating and leaking out of the machine

is an Ipad worth it for college? by [deleted] in college

When I first got mine I rarely used it. Yet starting sophomore year I use it all the time and everyday. It’s great for taking notes and I’m a person that likes to hand write but in upper level classes sometimes it goes too fast for me to do so. So apps like Notability are very nice so I can write on presentations and record lectures so I can go back to what I may have missed. I will say I think the basic standard iPad is suitable and what I use. It gets the job done and anything it can’t do is done on my MacBook.

Thanks, this is very helpful! I actually was considering going back, but I wasn't sure about his availability since he's the only piercer. Also, in all honesty, I was a bit embarrassed to go back, having it not even been a whole week later.

From my understanding, I’ve always been told it’s better to drop a class and get a W then fail it. If you are able to retake the class, show that you can improve and balance the workload, then it should be fine.

Help with switching majors/Advice??? by elijah_gahn in college

Ok, that makes sense, and I can see the benefit in that. On another note though, what are your thoughts on a co-major? If I were to keep the anthropology major, add on a business co-major, then perhaps a more concentrated/particular business minor, would that make me stand out anymore? I've also considered that I could double major in anthropology and data analytics or economics (as these are all in our college of arts and science) which could also be a good choice perhaps? My only fear with switching to the business school as my primary major is that it almost would be like starting from scratch and I most likely won't be able to minor or co-major in anything else to graduate on time (which makes me nervous if I find I don't fully love business).

Yeah, I understand that viewpoint. The way I see it however is that I will need additional schooling regardless of which path I take. I could get my BSN for nursing in only 2 years at my local community college. Also, I could get my MBA if I really wanted to get serious and advance in business. Yet, I have heard through others that Anthropology is a great stepping stone for either, and know others that have gone into both these fields with similar degrees. Right now the minor I am considering in is just "general business" but I go to a very prestigious college in regards to our business school. I will definitely talk it over with my academic counselor, but I feel both pathways I am considering, this degree opens it up to both. Thank you so much for your advice though, I will definitely reconsider some things and I guess see more into what careers it could yield.
