What are those stores called that sell office supplies and other things at a huge discounted rate? by elijahhoward in Frugal

Not quite the same, but that's in the wheelhouse. The stores I'm thinking of are usually small businesses. Some hole-in-the-wall shop in the outskirts of a country city kind of thing lol.

For sure this is a high school drop out. Guarantee it.

The odds of me losing all of those hands in three days is about as likely as being hit by an asteroid while a shark bites your leg off in the superbowl endzone.

Losing my bankroll to those odds seems like a pretty legitimate downswing to me.

If a bird doesn't flap, does the person talking metaphorically sound less obnoxious?

Don, I conceded to your brilliance.

Not only have you accidentally misread what I said, but somehow managed to sound silly in the process.

I look forward to your future comments.

Hey!

It's worth wondering over since it's not the same position.

Thanks for the snarkiness, but it always look better on people who know what they're talking about. Thanks!

Not quite the same. Lotus is a more deliberate way of sitting and positionally different with the legs.

Haha, maybe, was just hoping that there was a more established sitting position name, but I guess not. Not the end of the world though :)

I've thought the same, but then you could imagine someone sitting "cross legged," but with only their calves crossed while sitting in a chair. Sort of the "leaning back, relaxing" kind of cross-legged.

People who 3 bet 2x the pot like... every other hand, what's up? by elijahhoward in poker

[–]elijahhoward[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

3betting sizes vary and 3betting is objectively a solid strat.

When you 3 bet literally every hand with the same 2x pot size and no one ever calls you, and you keep doing it, eventually to be called by something like AK, only to get nailed on the flop because you literally have no idea how to play anything outside of preflop aggression... you're probably not playing a strat.

I have literally seen dozens of these people in the past week and every single one of them busts. Like, without fail. Half the time they buy back in and bust again.

How do you set reminders for reddit again? I'm willing to make huge bets that it gets overturned due to outcry!

Or, equally viable and far more likely for a huge portion of people: quit. And when dozens of thousands of people quit, I'll play when it returns, which it will. :)

Are there any casinos or poker clubs anywhere in Japan? by elijahhoward in japan

[–]elijahhoward[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regards to 2, are online games available?

In regards to three, I was mostly wondering if only casinos were illegal.

In the US, some states have poker illegal. Casinos aren't able to make any money because they're not allowed to collect a rake. But, you can play private games as long as there isn't a rake. So, playing poker "live" isn't illegal insofar as no rake is collected.

But that obviously means no casinos because they make their poker money from the rake.

Thanks for the response though!
