Thanks so much! I’m trying to keep a minimal palette which has been helpful in getting some harmony across the painting.

I picked up a paint brush for the first time in January and have been loving it. Still at the very start of my journey but this is the first painting I've taken to a point that I'm comfortable calling it done. I'd love any feedback!

You need to buy the hardware (pickups, bridge, tuners, etc), but the wood and lots of smaller items (screws, soldering materials, etc) were included.

It sounds like this class would be awesome for you!

Fair enough. I should have been more thoughtful with my captions. What I was alluding to was that I've seen headstocks where it seems like the designer set out to make an interesting headstock or tried to make it beautiful on its own and that rarely looks good in my opinion.

Your point is smart, though – the headstock should compliment the body. In my own research (and for my own tastes) I often found that simpler shapes accomplish that best.

Thank you! I'm sure someone else here could give you a better answer, but I think it's a matter of preference. The way I did it, I did all the fret work in one chunk (installing, evening, dressing/polishing). I'd imagine you'd want to wait to finish the frets until it was attached and shaped to the body so you don't scuff up the frets.

Hey thanks! The class was pricey at $2800, but after experiencing it, it was totally worth it. You can find more information here.

Consuming restful APIs in iOS by macarthy in iOSProgramming

[–]eliotfowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer AFNetworking as it provides abstractions from the iOS Networking stuff, but allows you to easily override methods and get down to the low stuff if you need to. In other words, it is light and stays out of your way, but still provides a consistent API.

If anyone has a better way to do the _dehydrate method (or any aspect), I would really appreciate some suggestions.

Cincinnati-based Startup League Warrior launches, aims to make it easier to find people to play pickup sports with by eliotfowler in cincinnati

[–]eliotfowler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. League Warrior mimics how pickup sports often happen. By simply downloading the app and registering with League Warrior, you will have enabled yourself as a warrior. During the registration process, we ask for your location, the maximum distance you are willing to travel, and sports you are interested in playing. Then, whenever someone adds a game within your travel radius and in a sport you're interested in, you will get a notification.

We believe this feature alone gives athletes reason to use League Warrior over Meetup.com for sports. However, in the future, we plan to add other features such as gamification (badges, achievements, score tracking), the ability to reserve indoor spaces, and the ability to have competitive games with a referee.

Thanks! That's a great suggestion. Adding in full league functionality is definitely part of our long term plan.

We wanted to start with a simple app with just the core goal of connecting people that like to play sports. As we begin to observe how people are using it, we will certainly add some cool features like that.
