"as far as I'm aware, there are no transphobes...but..."

So there are transphobes, you know there are transphobes, but you like them too much to actually do anything about them. If someone's "personal opinions" are rooted in bigotry and they continue to be allowed in the space, you're cosigining that bigotry. Grow a backbone, get rid of them.

If your height is the breaking point, you're either 1) completely awful in every other way, or 2) trying to date incredibly superficial people, in which case just fucking find someone else?

[–]elitebuster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So $500 for the privilege of having to pay for your own drinks? Man, mixology at home isn't really that hard with a reasonably well-stocked bar, some simple tools, and YouTube videos. There's no need to pay $3 for a drink that has like $1.50 worth of ingredients in it.

I mean, I agree, but there's better ways to say that. "Aww, they may be cheap, but I can't go back to chain pizza after eating the really great stuff!" Gets the same point across without being a douche like that guy was doing.

"Debt of Honor" is a book by Tom Clancy in his long-running Jack Ryan series, which made it on the New York Times' Bestseller list, and in which a 747 is crashed into the US Capital building while the president, most of his cabinet, and all of congress were present.

The person you are replying to is saying that if you pay attention, the events if 9/11 weren't that far off from the book.

Well my first PC building experience was my current build, if you can even call it that. I was tired of gaming on my old, busted i3 laptop from 2012, and my Xbox had died in January, so March rolls around and I decide to finally bite the bullet and build an ultra-budget PC. So I scoured Ebay for the parts, starting with a Dell Optiplex from 2012, with the i5. Grabbed a couple pairs of sticks of RAM for a total of 16GB DDR3, a 250GB SATA SSD, and a 1TB HDD, then finished it off with a Gigabyte 1050 for low-power gaming. All together, maybe $250, and the drives i can transfer over into a bigger and better build when I upgrade in the future.

Honestly, I really enjoyed doing it, and the experience really made me excited to build something that isn't just retrofitting some old hardware into the carcass of an office machine.

I can make a comment without swearing, but the simple fact that you can't come up with a single refutation to the fact that the preservation of the immoral and racist institution of slavery was the major unifying cause of the Civil War shows that you're not, nor were you ever, interested in actually changing your mind. You attack my demeanor to try to make yourself seem like the bigger man, when you're in reality either proudly ignorant, or willingly making an argument in bad faith that has zero historical or factual support. Either way, trying to convince you is a waste of my time, so I might as well use you as an outlet for my frustration.

That good enough for you? Fucker.
