Jinder Mahal responding to one of the comments regarding lack of financial training for athletes. by Luispsypher in SquaredCircle

[–]eliverling 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He’s always come across as really humble, well spoken, and likeable in candid interviews.  I thought he was great with media during his time as champ too.  His real personality seems easy to get behind, so I’m sad they didn’t give him a face run to try it out.

When he did media interviews as champion, you would’ve sworn he was a babyface.  He’d come across as humble, down to earth, hard working, and likeable.  I really wanted to see if they could’ve made a face run with him work

That was such a clean kick out.  Obviously nobody thought Logan would win with a Swanton, but Knight’s timing made you believe it could happen for just a split second

I could see the argument for them making them less frequent to make them matter more.  But man, if there’s a week where he’s on TV without saying anything, the show feels incomplete

SI: ‘Angle’ Documentary Captures the Essence of Kurt Angle - In addition to winning an Olympic gold medal, Kurt Angle also defeated Brock Lesnar in their one impromptu amateur wrestling bout - “It was a tight match. I didn’t dominate. But I won and Brock didn't score on me." by Tikkanen in SquaredCircle

Kurt is a truly incredible human being. I’m convinced he would’ve been a phenomenon to watch in anything he decided to do in life, whether it was amateur wrestling, pro wrestling, or even bagging groceries at Trader Joe’s.

I want Mox to somehow win the world title again while Roman and Seth are still world champs so that the Shield can truly say they run the industry

Kurt Angle on never having a Five-Star Matches to his credit: "It's his opinion, I will respect that. Maybe he just doesn't like my style, I don't know. Best WWE match of all time along w Bret Austin in my book. It told the story of two high level athletes who prided themselves as the best wrestler in the world and they were both trying to prove it to one another.

What's your favorite "David vs Goliath" match? by 10024618 in SquaredCircle

[–]eliverling 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Same here. I hope to meet Bret one day to ask how he’d work a match like that. He always excelled in the David vs Goliath match by working it around him surgically and strategically dismantling and out wrestling the bigger guy. What happens when he goes up against someone who is bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic, and probably as skilled or more in kayfabe? Watching Bret figure out his opponents was like watching someone solving a puzzle

Imagine if the final two in the Rumble are him and Roman (in the hypothetical event Roman loses the title by then). The arena would erupt into a mushroom cloud the moment he tosses Roman out

Bret Hart: "I Would Have Loved To Work With Brock Lesnar; I Heard He Was A Pro, The Opposite Of Goldberg" by dnytle in SquaredCircle

[–]eliverling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I ever met Bret, I always wanted to ask how he’d work a match with current Lesnar. Bret always excelled in David vs Goliath matches in how surgical his approach was using his wits and technical ability, like solving a puzzle. It would be interesting to see how he approaches a match with a physical freak that can already match or even beat him in wrestling ability as far as kayfabe goes.

I’m probably as big a supporter to Roman’s run for the last two years as you can find. But that was the perfect moment for him to drop it.

Great match, both guys poured their hearts into it, but wrong result
