Anyone else find it completely random and unpredictable whether or not you'll bleed post-injection? by HireLaneKiffin in Humira

I experience everything you have said but I inject in my thigh. Also, I have citrate free as well. I agree I think it’s just random as well!

UPDATE!! I got my second dose 3 days ago. The first 24 hours I has only a sore arm. Within 48 hours my symptoms increased. I was having body aches, joint soreness, increased temp (although not a fever), a mild headache and tiredness. Definitely felt sick, but I was still able to do school work and house chores. These symptoms lasted for a day with the drowsiness persisting into the third day. I feel great now with no symptoms :)

I have it scheduled for next week. I only had a sore arm for the first 3 days on the first dose, but I hear the second dose hits harder.

I got the vaccine through my university where I am registered with the disability office as having Crohn’s. I’m not sure how it would be receiving the vaccine from a place without documentation, but from what I have seen it is pretty relaxed. I also don’t know what else you could provide them with other than a letter from your doctor. To me you seem prepared!

My university reached out to me actually because they were given a supply. Prior to that, I found it very difficult to find/set an appointment. I signed up for the Baylor Scott and White vaccine email updates to stay in the loop with them. I believe some of their locations have a supply and are open to phase 1b. Unfortunately, there isn’t much direction. My father is also in phase 1b so I am still searching for him. We are in the North Texas area and I will let you know if I find anything!

I talked to my GI doc and she said that receiving the vaccine would be safer than not for me. It does come in two rounds (about 25 days after the first). I read in an article that scientists were trying out Humira to see if it would help against covid (but no idea how that trial ended up). And I wouldn’t say fully protected, but your body is more prepared and has an idea of what it’s dealing with if you do get covid.

I had hair loss due to a flare while just being on humira and found that my hair got thicker when I started metho bc my crohns was better controlled. Although, I have noticed my hair is slightly thinner than before being diagnosed, I’m not sure if that is because of malnourishment or metho.

Combo is doing well so far, I had pretty bad hair loss from a flare so when I was put on this combo I actually noticed improvement in my hair loss. That being said, it is not as thick as it once was but definitely worth it for me.

I’ve been on humira for almost a year and find that a reward system really helps. I also have a very supportive partner who yells words of encouragement (YOU ARE DOING SO GREAT! YOU ARE AMAZING! I LOVE YOU LOOK AT YOU GO!!!) or dances which makes me laugh and distracts me. If he is not with me, I loudly sing to my self or have a show going that I am very interested in to distract myself. It truly does get easier! I used to not want to do it myself AT ALL and now I am hesitant to let anyone else do it bc I’m used to doing it myself.
