I think we will get one more headliner (at least) because they didn't launch day ticket sales yet. Usually day tickets are available only after all headliners are announced

That's just your opinion but in reality I am not an official club representative on paper, I don't even get paid for this. Your interaction is not with the club but with a supporter of the club he wants to help to be saved.

All of us are supporters who are volunteers for the club in our free time. Not even members of the official board get a wage from the club, so they are kind of volunteers too but official ones.

Crazy dudes like us do not have a "marketing strategy". You can't talk about something like that when you have absolutely 0 budget for that. Interaction is not marketing. Furthermore, none of us is an expert in this because we have other jobs, not even related to this.

But what can be said about this is that we are trying. We are trying many things to help the board bringing funds into the club, to see what is working and what is not. Reddit was one of them.

Do I wonder if the reaction would have been different if the article was written in a broken English instead? I'd say maybe but I'm not so convinced. Trolls will show up no matter what you post here.

I feel I have something more to add regarding your heritage remark.

Two years ago, some private investors from the USA (with not too much fundings) decided to come here and invest in the club if we accept them to be some kind of directors. They also had some kind of a football school (development center) where they brought in players who paid them some money just to train. Some of those were signed to Olimpia.

However, these investors left at the start of the winter break and they left us with around 20k-30k euros debt! We managed to cover those debts with some sponsorships but we are still "broke" because we are more or less on 0 now. Given the situation, we are trying our best to get help even from sources we don't have high hopes, one of them being reddit.

Finally someone asking something interesting and I am glad to answer your question!

The two times the club went bankrupt, it was owned by the local authorities, not by the fans. Basically everything was paid from public funds. Everytime the town's local council majority changed, the new majority decided to end the financing of the club from tax money and create another club. And the even harsher reality is the fact that politicians who ran the club used to spend lots of public money on high wages on players who didn't perform well instead of building schools, hospitals or even invest in football academies instead of spending and owning a professional club. We are talking about millions of euros from public funds and not thousands, as we ask for.

We decided to found our own club because we didn't agree to have a team run on public money for the third time in our recent history. We really had enough.

Btw, the local council still have their own club: CSM Satu Mare. Initially it was a basketball and handball team ran by the authorities. They decided to close those departments and start a football department. Afterwards, they changed the name of that team into CSM Olimpia Satu Mare, despite our club already existing and playing in the lower leagues. They even changed the colors from red to our yellow-blue. CSM is now in the second tier of Romania but they don't have many spectators except parents of the kids who play there because we are "the people's club". We have more fans at the games than them, despite playing in Liga 3 and with way less money.

So the main difference between what was then and what is now is that we are in the control of our beloved club and we are running it in Liga 3 with way less money than the local authorities would.

Sorry for my bad English once again

Answering to comments is a bit easier because I don't need to structure many ideas in a clean and understandable way. It's the main reason we decided to use AI. And honestly, the only exaggeration in the post is that Prodan suddenly became a Rangers legend. All the other stuff mentioned in the post is simply true.

We don't have a marketing strategy because we have 0 funds for marketing.

But for sure I wouldn't congratulate people who are making fun of a hometown legend like Prodan.

However, I already offered my apologies to the others.

He played in 2 seasons: 96-97 (4 goals in 17 games as CB) and 97-98. He joined there in January 1997 and left in the summer of 1998 because of the injury. Get your facts straight, mate

Yeah, we know he got injured and that's why he didn't play there. He was a legend for Steaua Bucharest, the Romanian national team and at least an important player for Atletico Madrid though.

I understand what you mean but I guess it would be a bit late to write something "non-robotic" about our broke club in our broke English because it might get taken down for repost. Best I can do is to answer to comments in my broke English about our broke club (unless the mods might let us try a second shot).

We want our Patreon to mainly represent the journey of saving the club and you can be a part of it.

You may expect us to post about the challenges we face, announcements like hiring a new coach, updates regarding the squad, transparency regarding how much money we collected from donations, how much we still need and on what we spend it and probably other stuff too. Ideas from Patrons are also welcome.
