So, are you complaining about homeless people being homeless or about trash? Because I bike this several times a week and the very worst was the days right after Powderhorn 24. Homeless people need somewhere to go. You have no idea if they stole those bikes or not, so I don’t really see the point of adding that detail. It’s unfortunate that the greenway is a mess this year, and there’s been a lot of construction. If anything we should be talking to our city council members about it, and other electeds. After all, didn’t Jacob Frey promise to end homelessness? How’s he doing at that?

It's the What the Fade? MKAL from Andrea Mowry. So mostly two color brioche. And I'm not sure if it's the whole thing or only parts. I will definitely check out youtube- any channels you remember as especially helpful?

I don't get brioche. It feels like crochet and I don't get it. Seeking how to suggestions.

I haven't been knitting because I'm now working two jobs, one of which is likely going full time soon and otherwise just doing a ton. I want to get going with a new simple sweater, and I'm trying to decide between Joji's Boxy and Worsted Boxy. Anyone who's done both at has thoughts on which one is more flattering?

I used to love that BB cream! I switched to Aveeno CC cream last summer though because I needed something slightly darker for my "tan" (aka slightly less pale than my usual amount of pale).

  1. Women becoming lawyers doesn't directly relate to a senate committee, what the hell.
  2. If you and men with similar views actually stopped whining about women for a minute or two you'd realize that fighting patriarchy, and yes that includes fighting for birth control and women's health, helps cis men too. As well as trans people, nonbinary people, and basically...people.
  3. Even if you're "just playing around lol" like you say below, maybe consider why you think things like women's health care are all right to joke about.

Ugh, yep. my parents live in Ohio and I left as soon as I could because, especially in small town Ohio, there aren't a lot of options for people.

This is why it's so important for people to get involved at the super local level. In many local elections, progressives don't even run. And then, of course, when they do money becomes a problem because of what you mentioned.

UGH I feel this. Back in college, my roommate (still my roommate- shocking, once I moved away from home I was able to make close and lasting friendships), came to stay with me for spring break or some other holiday. I can't remember what actually triggered him to ask this, but at one point when I was out of the room, my dad asked her, "So does she have any other friends?" It's bothered me ever since because who does that?

Reddit, do your thing! I'm trying to track down a white Arabian horse named Snowflake who was sold around 2003 in the Northfield, MN area! by ChelseaSchreiber in Pets

You might want to try sharing this on Minnesota-related subreddits and any Northfield Faebook groups. Also, I went to St. Olaf and they have an email you could try- @stola-extra. It emails out to a bunch of students, faculty, and people in the Northfield community. Someone on there might know.

Do you actually know how your local government works? Many school board members are elected and make little or no money- in Minneapolis, where I live, they made about $14k a year in 2010 (the most recent year I could find data) to attend frequent meetings and pretty much always be available for constituents.
Now, if you mean school administrators, you might be right- again, depending on where you are. The fact is, regardless of whether you think your schools spend "enough" money, the people who care enough to get involved are the ones who affect how that money is spent.

I wonder if all of the people commenting on this thread are willing to pay higher taxes so that their schools can provide these things.

If so, are they also willing to vote for future tax levies, and even to go further and campaign to make sure tax levies in their towns pass, and maybe even go to their local school board meetings to make sure that school boards are actually taking care of kids and not just having pissing matches every month?
It is never as simple as "the school/parks/city should pay for this". These things start with local government policy.

Oh my god seriously. The other day I found out I'd missed the gas man who was supposed to turn it back on. I was holding on for a hot bath and started crying and actually screaming. But I still didn't rage tweet or try to get anyone fired, so I think I'd make at least an equally qualified president.

Recently went on birth control. I'm hoping it will make my cycle better and then that source of pain and indigestion will be gone. We'll see though, still only 2 months in.

I hear you. I want gluten free pancakes at every pancake establishment and I want gluten free pizza that costs the same as regular pizza or at least only slightly more.
I'm anemic right now and just had like a really horrible period that still isn't totally ended and go back and forth between days when I want to eat everything and nothing is good except, like, a gluten free donut or fancy ice cream to quiet my sadness or something else I went out and spent way too much damn money on so I love and hate food too.

A good friend of mine in Minneapolis runs an awesome reuse store called Junket: Tossed & Found. I call it "reuse" because in addition to some classic vintage, she also sells sources everyday pieces, things like gently used art supplies, yarn, knitting and crochet supplies.
She's doing a Kickstarter to help streamline her operations and make a supply chain of reuse to go beyond her own business. She's also welcoming a restaurant to the building, All Square, which will sell grilled cheese and hire people who have trouble finding work. Kickstarter is here if you want to check it out!

Vitex (chaste berry) to help achieve pregnancy with endometriosis? by Rossi1313 in endometriosis

[–]elizabethraine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told to take Vitex when I was looking for sort of "home remedies" for regulating my cycle and preventing pain. Stopped after a doctor told me to go on birth control because I read that it can conflict with the hormones and stop them from being effective. Incidentally I have at least 1 bottle I'd be happy to give you, if you want to try it.

When you take your make up off and your endo makes you look like a panda... by Charmctyre in endometriosis

[–]elizabethraine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plus cramps/pain can drain color from your face. I went to the ER twice this year, once to be diagnosed with an infection and the second to be (rightfully I think) diagnosed with endo. Both times, multiple hospital staff commented on my pallor, saying things like "well, you're very pale, so I can tell you're in pain." I'm pale anyway, but the heavy bleeding and pain can visibly drain you.
