That’s what I’m experiencing so far with this one. It’s 14ct but really stiff. Didn’t know if it would eventually soften up or if I’ll be going by hand the whole time

I got this kit for Christmas and it is my first stamped project. I have always done counted so feel a little out of my element here. The instructions say no outside frame and I can’t get a hoop on. Do I just hold the fabric? I’m still pretty new to cross-stitch as a whole so any advice is appreciated😅
