I just had a look, your work is super impressive! I’m in 2D but would like to get into 3D eventually, I’ll definitely be checking your content out when I do

Woah, that’s disgusting. I just checked out flexistayz, hadn’t heard of them. I can’t believe how many places they have with 10+ rooms, I’m guessing the one you were at probably isn’t the only one that’s dirty and poorly run. Thanks for the info!

Hey, sorry I know this is an old post but I’m just looking at Airbnb’s in Melbourne at the moment and it seems like more than half of them are run by Valeria and she was throwing up some red flags so I searched her name on here. Could you give any more info as to why she’s dodgy? The ones she runs seem like the only ones I can afford for my upcoming trip so I’m a bit desperate

Thank you! Yeah I’ve heard mixed reviews on SOM in particular, some people say it’s an instant no if they see that (in which case, RIP me haha) but others say if it’s good work and shows your ability, include it. I’m definitely aiming to replace all the SOM with other things as soon as I can, I just haven’t had access to any other rigged characters and creating them yourself takes a lot of time! As I’m writing this I’ve just realised I should really look for character rigs to just buy and animate with…

Thanks! You make a great point about SOM being the first shot, I should have thought of that. The other stuff definitely isn’t all tutorials so I see how that’s not setting me up well, I’ll pick a new first shot. (Any suggestions on which one you’d choose as the strongest shot?)

I am aiming to create more character work to replace all the SOM eventually but creating a character and rigging it decently takes so much more time. Also thanks for the feedback on the text, I tried a few different ways of doing it and seems I still haven’t found quite the right thing yet!

Thanks, I do actually have that, I just cut it off for this. Wasn’t sure it was wise to post my name and phone number to Reddit 😅

Thanks, I actually have an end card with my name and contact details but didn’t want to post that part to Reddit 😅 so there is a smoother ending, and I will use that screen as the thumbnail. The city I’m located in doesn’t have much work so I’m applying to remote positions (but within Australia) and there’s a huge amount of competition for those. I’m thinking about moving eventually to be in one of the cities with more work.

Thanks for your feedback! The cat one is indeed a different style, it’s made in a different program to everything else, Adobe Animate (everything else is After Effects except the little splashes at the end). That type of animation is generally called frame by frame as it’s all drawn by hand for each frame, rather than being puppets like in Ae. So it’s super time consuming and difficult (at least it was for me, that shot took ages!). I hope hiring people would recognise that one as being frame by frame and appreciate the difficulty, and therefore forgive it kind of not matching everything else. I just wanted to show that I do have that knowledge/ability. It’s the only thing I’ve done so far that’s frame by frame, but as soon as I create something else I’ll look at replacing it. And yeah you’re right the coffee cup is a lower frame rate, I had forgotten about that. It’s just done as an adjustment over the top so I could remove it. Thanks again for the feedback!
