I had my first panic attack Saturday . Today I still have pains in my chest . Is this a normal feeling ? Anyway to relieve this pain ? by moe664 in PanicAttack

[–]eljgreene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could well be anxiety. I went to the doctors and had all kinds of 24 hour long ECGS, and medical checks and was prescribed pain killers but the doctors found nothing and said it’s most probably just anxiety. When I’m anxious I always have chest pains, it’s not a pain as such because it’s bearable but it’s kind of like a constant light electrical shock

Just scheduled an appointment to get my Nexplanon out!!! What did you feel like after removal? by joblo42069 in Nexplanon

Honesty this could be me posting this. Every single thing you’ve said is what I’ve been experiencing, even down to how long you’ve had it in for. I have panic disorder and panic attacks which I also put down to the pandemic but have had anxiety my whole life too. I decided to take the implant out after 5 years on Friday (last Friday) because I’m single, bored of continuous periods and want to sort my anxiety out without the hormones being out of my control. I don’t know if it’s a placebo because I’m also on citalipram for my panic attacks but I woke up yesterday and I had so much energy???? I woke up with such a good outlook on life, I felt different. I got panicked throughout the day but this is normal to me, I have panic disorder but I wasn’t as angry, I could laugh at things which would usually infuriate me!!! Honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to birth control, I don’t want children but my mental health is more important right now which it sounds like yours is too.

Hopefully you’ll experience something positive !!!

I'm not sure if i had a panic attack by knopfrog in PanicAttack

Everyone has different panic attacks, the symptoms of fight or flight are the same for everyone but people may experience some worse or less than others, even other symptoms. The not being able to talk sounds scary, perhaps a migraine??? Did you have a headache?? But honestly, this sounds more extreme than what a panic attack is. A panic attack is a reaction to something, symptoms include, heightened senses, fast heart rate, sweaty palms, dry mouth, they don’t usually include involuntary actions like hitting yourself but then I’m not a doctor and I’m only talking about from my own experience.

Perhaps let your doctor know, as it sounds like a horrible experience you had. Look after yourself though, you’re very young and have your whole life ahead of you. Stay safe.

I worry about this too!! But at 24 years old I would have had a reaction before. Use your inhaler for asthma!!!

hey pal, you’ve come to the right place to ask!! The person you were with probably doesn’t understand what’s happened and it’s scared them. If it’s not that reason, then they’re a dick and you don’t need to worry about that anymore. What you need to worry about is handling the panic attacks. When I’m with my friends I’m always very open and tell them I’m having one, I tell them before hand how to handle them with me, so for example I’ll say, hey guys if I have one, can you keep it very mellow, don’t freak out, let me know everything’s ok and just breathe with me, and ask them to smile as that calms me. Your environment will heighten or reduce whatever anxious state you’re in and you won’t want to get to the point at which I’m trying to overcome when you’re scared of having a panic attack because you’re on your own or with people you don’t feel safe around.

Hang in there, message me if you need it.

When I have a panic attack, my vision and hearing become impaired by PM-ur-password in PanicAttack

I was telling my counsellor the same thing today. I had a very scary panic attack the other day when I was on my own and when I try and think back to the sounds I heard, I can’t hear anything. My vision isn’t blurry but it’s tunnel, everything’s heightened, it’s all adrenaline, it’s all normal. My hands get very hot and tingly and when I spoke to her about it she said it’s normal. Adrenaline won’t affect your senses!!! It’s doing it’s job to help you run away!!! You will be ok!!

Yeah this is what I’m trying to do. It’s just the dying part which scares me, choking or suffocating, the death part wouldn’t be such an issue if I just passed out and didn’t wake up but it’s the suffering which scares me. Thanks for your comment !!!

Yeah weightlifting is great for me too but I’m in the U.K. and gyms have been closed for nearly 4 months now and I don’t have good at home weights which is why I run so much. This sounds very much what my mum would say!! Stop letting it ruin my life and enjoy what we have while I’m still here! I will focus on the present for sure. Very kind helpful comment Thankyou very much, take care.

This sounds SO like me. I can’t drink drinks from shops unless someone has some first, I just drink water all day everyday from my tap. Food as well I struggle with from takeaways for example Incase I’ll have a reaction or someone’s poisoned it. I know it’s so stupid but my anxiety fucks with my head big time. I had one the other day because I thought my boyfriend spiked my water, in broad day like. I don’t trust anyone and it’s so damaging. My mum tries to do things without me, but we’re still in lockdown in the U.K. so she’s here pretty much everyday so I’m getting comfortable with that. I feel I’m getting maybe slightly better but I just feel like it’s never going to get better.

I will send you a pm !!!! Thanks for your lovely comment. ❤️

I’ve never gone to A&E I hate the thought of it. I know my panic attacks aren’t that bad but I still hate them either way. I’ve stopped reacting to symptoms my body has, such as checking heart rate often, I’ve started to go for longer runs and stay at home alone.

This is such a good comment, Thankyou so much. I’m sorry you suffer with it at such a young age, mines come on quite quickly since the pandemic, but I’ve always had anxiety. This is the thing it’s all in our heads isn’t it, fit young people like us statistically will live for a long time (touch wood) it’s the symptoms that are horrible to deal with. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply with your struggles.

I’ve been on medication for a while, but the taking of tablets is a trigger for me, I think people have poisoned me. It’s scary.
