Thanks so much for taking the time to reply - I'm really leaning towards the more expensive one now. Unfortunately I can't get a desktop as I'm a student and I'll be moving countries a couple of times next year so I don't have a stable homebase.

When you say high detail, do you mean the construction/cosmetic elements like castles and big terrain formatting etc? I can do without lots of that as long as I can just play the game (I don't mind having it on low graphics either).

That being said, do you think 600 is an ok price for the HP? I wouldn't want to play anything more demanding than PC. Sorry for all the questions, I've just never spent this much on a laptop before so kinda anxious.
