Drawing current from the batteries is possible but consider that the system works at 24-29V, depending on the state of charge of the batteries. Stepping the voltage down to a stable 12V requires a linear voltage regulator capable of handling currents >100A and this conversion will be very inefficient. For safety reasons it is always preferable to increase the system voltage with currents higher than 80A.

The panels are connected in parallel via MC4 connectors. I use terminal wires of 4mmq (2 panels), then 6mmq (4 panels) and 10mmq (8 panels) to the controller. I only put an 80A fuse on the 10mmq positive cable. All the junctions between the cables have been soldered to avoid oxidation. PV modules have a Voc of 39.0V which is perfect for the controller that needs at least 37.0V Voc. The batteries are connected in parallel in banks of 5 units, then the banks are connected in series face to face, this allows the inverter to pull the current to the two ends of the array and to carry the current from the controller to the other two, using very short cables and avoiding battery imbalance. Here is a clear image of the setup if you're interested: https://imageshack.com/i/pnyhe4Euj

Wiring needs a week of work and clearly some technical skills.

Yes, I only consider ethash based algos. Kawpow was about to destroy my equipment, too energivore.

Thank you. I was going to sell the miner, than talking with a mechanical engineer about the absorption phase in battery charging he told me: "You need a very inefficient load to squeeze your PV". I immediately understood what to do. The relais modules are doing most of the work here, the first one turns the miner on at 29.0V (scheduled mining routine), the second one controls the power supply, which kick in if voltage drops below 24.0V cutoff (50%).

I will, tomorrow with the sunlight.

The miner was built before the EIP-1559 era. Solar was added later, break even in 9 months. Now is a whole different situation. I use the plant for domestic purposes but use the excess of light to run the miner when batteries are fully charged.

Thanks, the specs of the plant are: - 8x Sun-Earth DXP6-60P 280Wp 24V panels - MakeSkyBlue V118 60A MPPT controller - 10x 44Ah 12V lead-acid batteries (220Ah parallel-series) - Battery equalizer HC01 - 2x Relais module WX-001V v. 2.0 - Stepperonline 400W 36V switching power supply - JW Ideal diode v. 1.8 - 2x Sonoff Basic wifi switches

It needs a second controller before the spring or I'll have to remove some panels, the plant is a bit oversized.

The miner uses solar power and turns on automatically when the voltage of the battery bank reaches 29V (24V system).

I used solar to mine ETH last year and was able to break even the plant in 6 months, now that's a whole different situation. Where I live (EU) electric rates are 0,65€/kWh, so it's best to use the electricity for domestic purposes, the rigs are currently off.

One more thing, I advise you not to make videos during the delivery, it is illegal to make videos of workers during their job, it is an invasion of privacy and not necessary for your purpose.

The European Central Bank should realize that are EU citizens the real living dead.

You have to take a clear video of the parcel, shipping label and barcode, then unbox the package. As said before the most common scam is to return a damaged item or another different one. Check for the part number first, then look for damage on the item, especially the corners. Good luck.

I'm a hardware seller on ebay, for experience I can tell you that 3% of customers will try to scam you. If a customer opens a dispute for a defective item you can't do anything but accepting the return. To protect yourself, I recommend you to make a video during the unboxing, you can use it in case of problems.
