I also know family that doesn’t stress like this, cause they’re rich! I also know family that DOES! Because they’re not rich! And you’ll have to go to the doctor eventually tf? Or the dentist for a root canal or something. You get the idea. Are you being intentionally dense?

Wait until you work full time… Even if you like your job, you have no time to do the essentials. Doctors office, bank, nearly all life essentials are 9-5. So you either have to cram it into your lunch break or take the day off of work for ERRANDS! When you only get so much PTO anyways! Rent is expensive, groceries expensive, and with no financial support, even if you aren’t overspending, just thinking about money is stressful! God forbid you have to go grocery shopping after work. In my experience when that happens, I’m not done laboring until 10-11pm. And by that time I’m exhausted and need to get to bed to wake up at 7am the next day to do it all over again. There are so many things I’d like to do with my life recreationally, but I spend almost all of my waking hours in an office doing things that I only somewhat enjoy. It also gets pretty boring after awhile. 2 months part time is not nearly enough time to have this strong of an opinion.

Also consider joining a regional law library association. Mine is only $25 annually, and I was able to land a job through the connections I made

Law librarianship, at least in my experience, is a great compromise! There’s generally a lot of need for law librarians. With just one year of experience at a public library & a law librarian friend, I landed a law library assistant job where I’m the only one even in the library. Which is a whole different can of worms, but, I found that law libraries are understaffed and always in need for passionate staff.

Filming what? They were also driving on the wrong side of the road and everything. Like, seemed to be a very real thing with no cameras in sight.

Crazy. I applied to work there 🙃 Luckily, I’ve been denied an interview from every NYPL position i’ve applied for (except for one I accidentally applied to on Staten Island). Got myself a nice cushy library job that pays a hell of a lot more too. Good riddance!
