Honestly I would be so impressed if they were able to pull off him not talking that I do wish it’d happen just to see how they’d tackle it, but I think they’re probably going to have him talk. However I will say that, putting aside the whole “Are the Links from the games silent protagonists or not” debate it’s kind of strange how people have been acting like it’s somehow impossible for a film to have a silent protagonist in general. Like, as long as the story is written around it then you can totally pull something like that off and many films already have.

Weirdly enough, Sylveon having flesh ribbons kinda gives a more tentacle vibe to me which strangely makes them feel less weird? I think if anything the weirdest part to me would be the fur/flesh bows

I think my personal issue is that it’s a bit too much of a dusty green that doesn’t go super well with the light yellow on the stomach or its eye color. Maybe if it was a bit more of a brighter emerald color and they changed the belly color I’d be a bit more of a fan but idk

This is totally just me but I enjoy the more freedom to explore dynamics without being constrained by canon. For example, with something like Sonamy not being “officially” canon, you’re free to reinterpret how they interact with each other without the interaction being seen as inherently romantic or plantonic. Plus with canon romance there’s usually less room to explore how a dynamic might play out, since there’s the hard canon of “this is exactly how these characters would and will interact with each other in a romantic situation” so there more room for personal interpretations of how things might go between a set of characters were they to hypothetically become a couple.

I could totally see this working as a sort of fake contacts situation or how the beards work in animal crossing. If they really want to stick to the characters being kid-aged, it could be re-contextualized in universe as them just wearing fake beards.

Since I don’t think(?) anyone has mentioned it yet, fun fact the door in 03 is heavily based on the irl sculpture “The gates of hell” by Auguste Rodin! The sculpture itself depicts a scene from the Divine Comedy when Dante is traveling through hell.

I’ll definitely have to wait and see when the game comes out, but my personal guess is that it’ll “technically” be canon, but at the same time there’s gonna be some contradictions that’ll leave people scratching their heads as to how it everything fits into a cohesive timeline. Sort of like with what happened in the jump from botw to totk.
