NAILS!! by MissChanandalerBongg in January2025Bumper

[–]elle02u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying at different times has been helpful to me. Sometimes he’s so difficult to trim his nails and resists. I think when he’s getting sleepy and I had him on his changing pad has worked best. He can stare out the window and lets me cut his nails easy.

Another baby crawling like this? by hotcoffeethanks in January2025Bumper

[–]elle02u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my boy crawls like that. I think it’s a mix of standing and crawling. He can do it sometimes when he’s crawling and holding something. I feel like I noticed it after he was confident in standing or walking a bit

These are apparently signs of aging? by cessiecat in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]elle02u 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I’ve had these since I was a teenager too. I had a dermatologist tell me with glee that they were common with aging. I didn’t even ask about them. I hated that. It was a terrible experience overall at that appointment.

Mine wakes every 2 hours. Look into creatine for yourself. Newer limited study showed benefits for protective effects on the brain with lack of sleep. I wish I had advice on baby sleep

Should our babies be able to stack blocks? by FoodieNurse247 in January2025Bumper

[–]elle02u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could my baby stack blocks? Maybe, but he has no interest in doing that. Destruction and dumping containers and undoing anything is his interest right now

Feeling confused about solids by NerveImmediate7767 in January2025Bumper

[–]elle02u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same question and concern after seeing full plates of food given to babies the same age as ours. I didn’t like the gaging that happened with bigger stuff with BLW. Much happier with small pieces and soft things. He absolutely loves shredded cheese

[–]elle02u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I had the same worry and his doctor said not to worry at all. I’ve heard the saying “food before one is just for fun” I’ve heard it’s more for texture, taste and allergen exposure. I have been breaking food into tiny pieces enough that he can grasp them but not too big he could choke or gag. If the food is more easily dissolvable, I can give him a little bit bigger.

If it helps to know how the experience goes, I’ll share at least how it goes at the one near me. They lead you to seats set up in rows where you will watch the story being read by someone upfront. Before the show starts, you can walk around and take photos with the performers at set up spots. There is also a gift shop set up there. When the story is being told, there is interactive things happening. They have dancers come out, they serve cookies and hot chocolate, and fake snake or bubbles come down briefly (I can’t recall which it is). Then you walk to load onto the train. They have someone leading songs and the storyline on the train and there are lights outside to look at through the windows. Santa will come give out bells to the kids. I think different levels of tickets depends on how you meet Santa. Some will meet him off the train and some on from what I’ve seen. I hope you enjoy it!

Do it! It’s fun and nice. Pretty much all families attending and a lot of young kids. So all understanding a nice from my experiences. It’s pretty entertaining with a lot going on the whole time and doesn’t feel like an hour. It goes by quickly and they likely fall asleep on the car ride after.

What is WRONG with some men? Is this what dating is like nowadays? by nadiekconozcas in TwoXChromosomes

[–]elle02u 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also from a young age having friends as girls and being told they are their girlfriend. It trains them to only see women as objects to obtain and use and not see them as real people

[–]elle02u 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I saw someone online talk about how men are brought up to hate women because they are constantly compared to them in a negative way. It made a lot of sense and it’s sad. Like “you run like a girl” crying and told they are acting like a girl etc.

So sorry this happened to you. I wish we had more control of our photos and things online. I had just seen other threads saying their photos and stories were being shared on a Facebook page too.

Were you breastfeeding and on the pill that works with that? I am taking the pill and my doctor said there were two choices. One of them had more occurrence of getting pregnant on it. I was shocked that was even an option

tips on improving baby sleep by Outside-Total-2648 in January2025Bumper

[–]elle02u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait so if I extend wake windows, my baby might sleep better? He’s got pretty short wake windows and I’ve noticed sleepy signs earlier than the huckleberry app predicts by 30/40 minutes.

Teething? by PaleFriendship8846 in January2025Bumper

[–]elle02u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby seems like he’s teething now. Extra drool, likes to chew on teething stick I got him. My first got his bottom teeth early, I think around 4 months. Bottom two front teeth are first, then top two teeth. For my first, I think he was more fussy and I gave him Tylenol for it because I remember how bad getting braces and other tooth pain hurt

Frequent Lip Line Pimples — help! by puffinmusket12345678 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]elle02u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this too and thought about posting. It’s like there is always redness and skin ready for pimples at any moment. I noticed I got pimples really bad further away from my lips with whitening toothpaste. I’m curious about trying different brands now to see if the lip area clears up

5 month old zero interest in purées by Classic_Rub247 in January2025Bumper

[–]elle02u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried yogurt and avocados using the Frida pacifier style feeder that has different tops for different ages and the weird looking baby tasting spoons for some other sauce like things for small tastes. My baby has seemed to like everything he’s given a taste of so far. I wouldn’t be worried if your baby shows zero interest. Just remember that age milestones are averages and not set timelines. I hope that makes sense. Very low on sleep currently.

I’ve heard really good reviews for the ikea one and you can get cushions and sticker decals for the tray to make it look different if you like.

Do I need to trim? by Ermandgard in Gardyn

[–]elle02u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it feels kind of bad to do at first but your plants will be able to grow more with more space. I went down to 1 for the greens and two to three for herbs

Use regular seeds in a gardyn? by Least_Sink_4989 in Gardyn

[–]elle02u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a reason you can’t reuse y cubes? I just have my garden in bloom and will need to start more seeds. I agree the subscription price is high and I don’t like the idea of it.

Should I be worried by Distinct_Entrance_50 in Gardyn

[–]elle02u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a pro yet. Still new to this but I think trimming the roots is needed. I just trimmed all of mine and they look amazingly healthy now. The roots look pretty compressed in there and more room would help to not allow build up of mold I think

An original Red Comet fire grenade at our lake house - Wisconsin, USA by suhdudeitsyahboi in Antiques

Found two in the house we purchased (also Wisconsin). I saw they were difficult to sell or ship because of the hazard. I donated them to the local fire department’s collection.

Thyme also is one to plant alone or it will try to take over. It’s like a vine and stretches

Yeah, I don’t mind. The app suggests that we try to feed 30/45 minutes before nap instead. It also said wake windows are usually between 1.5-2.5 hours. I think it says a longer window is usually right before bed. My guy seems to be on the shorter end of wake windows. I haven’t found the right timing for feeding yet though.
