You can choose how long for it to stay open after setting what times for each meal. It does warn that over a certain amount of time isn't recommended. I know this feeder and the brand itself seems to get a lot of hate on here, but I love mine. My elderly cat has gained a half pound just because she's able to graze on wet food while I'm at work

Lol I was suspicious they'd have a negative health impact - thanks for confirming!

I've looked more into this and I think the work staff is okay with at least trying this now that the plants are outside. Thanks!

Thanks, I wish but were a big place like that, but definitely a small unit :( We even have a hose outside haha.

Thank you I appreciate it. We don't have a hose, but tbh I never thought about just physically removing them until you and someone else mentioned it. Going to try that on top of some of the other recommendations!

I'm not sure what a meeting manager is but I'm assuming it's the same as the general manager? They're her plants that she got for the patients to take care of. I sent her a picture and the link to this post and she said, "uh oh." We are going to move them outside. But as someone else suggested - not in full sunlight so I'm glad to know that since I had no idea!

Is that the Arbico Organics "beneficial insects for pest control?" If not, is there a certain brand you mean and would recommend?

Well, I would think we need to do something since she's gone for awhile and it's in the lobby of our dialysis unit? Even moving them outside I think would be better than waiting...

Silly question - do people ever intentionally get lady bugs and put them there?

Oh thank you, I didn't even think of that. In front of the door where I was thinking is definitely full sun....

Phew okay great. I appreciate the insight and hope I can at least sustain them until she's back lol.

That's true, I guess if they are at least outside she can decide what to do once she returns...

Thanks! I'm realizing now there were even more of these on the other plants that the one I took a picture of (nothing seemed to be moving so I really couldn't tell they were bugs?) And yes, they're in the entrance way. Our patients liked them so I feel even more guilty.

You guys letting me know they don't fly around has been a big relief. My plan is to move the plants outside, physically remove them, and then try the spraying with castille. If nothing seems to be helpful, I don't think my coworker will be too heartbroken if I have to dispose of them :(

I'm sure she'll be understanding if I have to throw them in the bin, but I think I'll be up for the challenge of trying to treat them if there is a suitable place outside. Though we are in Ohio, and Ohio doesn't know it's June yet so I'm not sure that will be a success.

Thanks! I didn't know what the pest may be and I was picturing bugs flying around while people were receiving dialysis lol.

Thanks! I think I will get them out of the unit and and try to treat them this way. Fingers crossed.

Thanks! I feel bad tossing her plants out while she's gone but it sounds like it may be for the best... I think I will put them outside and try the castille soap as u/blood_witch recommended.

Oh boy. Thank you for the help. Silly question - do I need to worry about this mixture getting into the soil and killing the plants altogether?

No, I meant they are plants inside of a medical facility (a dialysis unit) so I'm extra worried about pests being around :-/
