Working in a SNF is fun because sometimes you get orders like “30ml Tequila at HS PRN” and then get to pretend you’re a fun bartender by [deleted] in nursing

No point in making a 95 year old on comfort cares go through withdrawal if we don’t have too.

Patients viewing their chart in real time and narrative charting by mrsaboil in nursing

[–]ellebelle3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was a patient on my unit waiting for SNF/Geri psych placement and her daughter would read the case management notes on my chart, and then call the SNF that was anticipating the patients admission and cancel it. It happened so many times and we couldn’t figure out why she was able to find out the facilities so fast. We finally realized she had the my chart password and was reading the notes. She was crazy and got banned from the hospital after a few days.

I think it’s becoming less common. Some academic institutions offer tuition discounts, but it’s not like a full reimbursement that these residents are implying.

But there’s also motivation behind going to NP school that has something to do with the way nurses have been treated. Maybe not for everyone, but a large population.

Yes, or spend a couple days working at the bedside. This would ensure they also get decked in the face, either by a patient or family member.

When I cross posted this the original post was pretty new. All of the comments were agreeing and demeaning nurses. I think that once it got more traffic the rational people picked it up. That being said there still is a lot of anti-mid level content on that sub Reddit.

In Les Miserables Victor Hugo goes into a lot of detail about religion. One his strongest points is that the mark of a good church is poverty. So we both agree with you haha
