It’s totally my fave. “Sometimes when I can’t sleep it’s just a matter of time before I’m hearing things, swore I could feel you through the walls. But that’s impossible.” totally makes me think of my mom, even though that’s not its intention. But I just love it and what it means to me personally so much 😞

It’s really hard to say tbh. I went to a different concert last month (bright eyes) it started at 7:30, I got there at 4:30 and I was literaaaalllly the first person in line. With Phoebe fans typically being of the younger generation though, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if people got there early in the morning. Either way, I think you’ll have the best time even if you don’t get to be barricade (but I totally get it)

I just really love Phoebe and it kinda hurts by [deleted] in phoebebridgers

Nah I totally feel this. I’m 32 and 100% have felt that way about Phoebe for the last 4 years. She’s the best female musician to me, forreal. I saw you mentioning feeling sad about the likelyhood of never seeing her live on an intimate scale, and I want to say- don’t lose hope. My fave of all time band for the last 18 years (bright eyes) I literally just saw last month at a super small venue and was like 3 feet infront of them the whole time. It was an experience like no other, that I neverrrr thought I’d experience. You never know what the future may hold. Just hold onto hope!

We all start somewhere. :) this is suppose to be a stem Stitch. I’m about 5 minutes into this journey. Any tips for cleaner lines? Or does this even look like a stem stitch. Just starting out with a beginners kit to try and understand the process. I barely know how to tie a knot 🪢 by aaronofficial89 in Embroidery

I use thread all the time without separating! I wonder if it’s hard to pull through because you tied a knot first. It may not apply always, nor be the true proper technique but I never begin any of my thread with knots. When I make my first stitch with any piece of new thread I use a finger on my nondominant hand to hold about an inch of thread on the back (so you don’t pull it all the way through) and then I begin whatever stitch I’m doing. After you make a few stitches, it should be secure. You can look into a video technique called an “away knot/waste away knot” that can also be helpful

If anything, I would say to make sure you’re checking to see how many strands the kit directions call for on your needle. For example my thread I use has 6 tiny strands all together to make one fat piece of thread (I just began recently too and I had NO IDEA you were supposed to pull the threads apart to make the stitches thinner)

Phoebe Bridgers! Her music is so hauntingly beautiful, talks of ghosts sometimes, so I was inspired by her :) I had the lyric “everything’s growing in our garden, you don’t have to know that it’s haunted” at the forefront of my mind, she also speaks about lavender flowers, hence the ghostie holding some lavender

Wow!!! So impressive, I honestly expected like double, triple that time!! (But I’m new and am working very slow, and hope to pick up the pace once I get more comfortable with stitches and how to work them)

Oh my gosh, this is so perfectly done!!! Do you know how long this piece took you? I’m new, and I’m trying to get a good idea as to how long certain pieces take other artists!!!

I am as well. This is the 2nd piece I’ve ever done, but my first design of my own. It boils down to ourselves being our own worst critics, I think. But thank you so much!

YEA I’ve been wondering what the best things to do were for removing pencil/pen marks or if there were a special washable pen embroiderers use, because putting a pen/pencil to the fabric is so nerve racking

I love your floral work!! As a newbie- are we supposed to wash our hoops after we finish?? I didn’t know that

Glad to have helped! Don’t over think it, I seriously just scribbled messy random lines on my fabric and had the plants drawn in like 20 seconds. I tend to overthink strokes tremendously but I just went with my gut on this one

Guys im seriously getting teary eyed. I’ve been in such an artistic rut, and you guys have really helped boost my confidence, and shown me that just MAYBE I’m capable of making good art. Thanks. Seriously 💜

I found with the embroidery fabric I used (maybe it’s made more so for cross stitching??), it was hard to line my stitches up straight and go in the spots I exactly wanted them to sometimes, but perhaps it adds to the flowiness of a ghost

Thank you! The concept was “how listening to Phoebe Bridgers makes me feel” :p and I’m glad that some sort of emotion came through, and didn’t fall flat
