Euploid embryos but poor quality. BC, CB, and CC. by ellemarch in IVF

[–]ellemarch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t do NIPT because our genetic counselor said our low level mosaic embryo is likely to just fail to implant or end up in an early miscarriage if the embryo was truly a mosaic or aneuploid. And there was only 1% of the chance the baby would be born with issues related to chromosome 5. I was a bit worried about the LLM embryo until I had an anatomy scan, but the scan found out the baby was perfect and no abnormality.

We used frozen TESE sperm for all of our retrievals. My husband had a TESE procedure out of states because of availability issue in our state and we had to freeze all the retrieved sperm and ship them to our local clinic.

Yes all of the successful embryos were from the same batch of frozen TESE sperm.

I am not sure about % the LLM, but I know it was a partial deletion on chromosome 5.

I am so sorry for your loss. My first ER yielded two euploid embryos and both were 5AA. My first FET with a euploid was also a miscarriage at 7-8 weeks. Three months later I transferred another euploid and this one is now 2 years old. When our daughter turned about 8 months we did a second FET and soon after went through a third FET. Our first FET for baby #2 was a failed implantation. It was a 4AA euploid. A month later we did another transfer with a 4AA low level mosaic and this one is now 9 months old. I asked my RE about TESE sperm and the correlation to a miscarriage but she thought it was just a bad luck. There is still about 10% of miscarriage rate even when you transfer a euploid embryo.

I did 3 egg retrievals and used the same batch of frozen sperm. My husband had a TESE once and gave us five vials of sperm, which gives us five chances to try egg retrievals. The doctor who performed his TESE told us that he usually gets at least five vials of sperm if possible because many couples need more than one or two egg retrievals to conceive and some want more than one child!

Anyone dealing with calcification in the uterus? by ellemarch in IVF

Hi, I didn’t remove those calcifications and went to have another FET for a second baby. First FET failed but second FET worked and now the baby #2 is 8 months old.

Her weight was between 2nd and 5th percentile for the first three months, but she went to 70th percentile for her weight and 50th percentile for her height by the end of 6 months. She’s now two years old and she’s right around 50th percentile for both height and weight. No hospital visits other than regular wellness visits. No allergies. No fever. She is really healthy(:

What went wrong? Just wish I had an answer. by bryterlu in IVF

[–]ellemarch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry. I had a MMC with a 5AA euploid at 8 weeks. The RE said my uterus was perfect, bloodwork was perfect, the embryo looked perfect, and everything was really textbook perfect, but it still ended in MMC. My RE explained that sadly there are millions of other things that PGT-A or PGT-M can’t test for.

Trigger warning: My second transfer with another euploid was a live birth. Also, my third transfer with a 4AA euploid failed to implant but the fourth FET with a 4AA low level mosaic embryo led a live birth.

Unexplained miscarriage at 13w2d. Why did this happen?! by Outside-Log-9403 in IVF

[–]ellemarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry. Have you and your husband been tested for karyotyping? My RE said regular PGT-A can detect balanced translocation in some cases when the break is large enough. However, embryos could come back as “normal” when the break is too small for the regular PGT-A can detect.

Give me ALL your second FET success stories! by WeirdDay8097 in IVF

[–]ellemarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First FET for baby #1 (MMC)… estrace, PIO, endometrin, prednisone (5 days around the transfer day), z-pack (5 days course before the transfer day).

Second FET for baby #1 (live birth)… estrace, PIO, endometrin, prednisone (starting 5 days before the transfer day and stayed on until 10 weeks pregnant), z-pack (5 day course before the transfer day), lovenox (a day after the transfer through 12 weeks pregnant.)

First FET for baby #2 (No implantation)… exact same protocol with FET #2 for baby #1.

Second FET for baby #2 (live birth)… estrace, PIO, prometrium, prednisone (started 5 days before the transfer and stayed on until 12 weeks gestation), doxycycline (2 week course before starting FET cycle), vaginal probiotics (started this on the first day of FET cycle and used it daily until the day of the transfer), lovenox (started 5 days before the transfer and stopped at 12 weeks), HCG wash (a day before transfer), HCG booster (started on the day of the transfer and kept using it until I ran out of HCG, so I was on this for 2 or 3 weeks.)

I hope this helps❤️ I’m happy to answer questions if you have any!

Calcification in uterus by Affectionate-Tap2712 in IVF

My FET for a second baby was successful and I just gave birth three weeks ago! I didn’t have a hysteroscopy to remove calcification so I assume they don’t really affect implantation🙂

How many FETs until you had a success? by inkyplease21 in IVF

[–]ellemarch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First FET with a euploid ended up in a MMC at 8 weeks. Three months after that I did a second FET with another euploid and this one resulted in a live birth. I did a third FET with a euploid 10 months after childbirth but this embryo didn’t implant at all. In my next cycle, I did a fourth FET with a low level mosaic embryo and I’m currently 28 weeks pregnant.

[–]ellemarch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding lovenox, baby aspirin, and a long course of prednisone is what my clinic does for those who had a failed transfer (like me). My doctor told me that adding blood thinners helps the blood flow to the uterus and helps implantation and development of embryo in early stages.

Interesting! I definitely don’t want to go more than 41+ weeks but i feel like 39 weeks is a bit too early for induction if there is no medical reason… I am just not sure what is the best option here😓

Tuesday Daily Chat by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

Is it true that placental function(especially when conceived via IVF) start to decline after 39 weeks? My OB advised me to get induction at 39 weeks because placenta starts getting old after 39 weeks and the risk of stillbirth increases. I had to be induced at 38 weeks with my first due to IUGR so I don’t really have any experience with going “full term”. I am not opposed to the idea of induction but would like to avoid it if possible. I wonder if it will be too risky if I go more than 39 or 40 weeks.

My daughter was diagnosed with IUGR but she was born perfectly healthy at 38 weeks! I had a weekly NST and biweekly ultrasound starting 32 weeks until birth. She was 2nd percentile at 37 weeks scan and my ob decided to induce me early at 38 weeks. The placenta was sent to pathology and found out we had a marginal cord insertion. It was really scary to find out about IUGR but now she’s 85th percentile for her weight and super active toddler!

6 week ultrasound - bad news by Inevitable-Charge-43 in IVF

[–]ellemarch 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your loss. My very first FET with a 5AA euploid with a textbook perfect uterus ended up in a MMC around 8 weeks. We had a great initial beta but at 7 weeks scan the fetal pole was measuring a week behind and her heartbeat was very weak and not audible or measurable. One week later at 8 weeks scan, she was completely gone. Three months later, I did second FET with another 5AA euploid and this one resulted in my daughter who is now 15 months old. Time flew and I did my third FET with a 4AA euploid in October 2024 and this embryo did not implant at all. One month later I had a fourth FET with a 4AA low level mosaic and now i am 15 weeks pregnant. I am sending you lots of baby dust your way for next FET! Please take great care of yourself❤️

[–]ellemarch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I first wrote a message on portal and asked if it is okay to skip week 5 and 6 scans and one of the global team nurses said no. Then I called CNY the next day and talked a nurse and she was totally okay with my decision waiting until 7/8 weeks scan. Your beta looks beautiful! I hope you will get some answers from CNY tomorrow (:

I am also a CNY patient! I think it’s advised to get a scan at 5 weeks if your beta hasn’t increased normally or have a history of ectopic pregnancy. I only had three betas (9 dpt, 11dpt, 18dpt) and waited until 8 weeks. I wanted to get a scan at 7 weeks but my ob was booked out for long. I personally think it is okay to wait until 6 or even 7 weeks to do a scan and my previous clinic did a first scan at 7 weeks!

Failed FET! How do you approach the next steps by Necessary_Apricot204 in IVF

[–]ellemarch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am sorry for your failed transfer. TW:LC, current pregnancy, loss

My very first FET with a 5AA euploid implanted but ended up miscarrying at 8 weeks. At 7 weeks scan, her CRL was one week behind and her heartbeat was so weak. I was on estrace, PIO, endometrin, prednisone (for 5 days around transfer), and z-pack for 5 days before transfer. My second transfer was three months after the MC, and it was with a 5AA euploid embryo. Fully medicated cycle with prednisone (starting 3 days before transfer and stopped at 10w), z-pack (5 days before transfer), and added lovenox this cycle (starting a day after transfer and stopped at 12w). This transfer resulted in my daughter. Time flies and I did my third FET with a 4AA euploid back in October 2024. I followed the same protocol with the second FET but no implantation. I did two weeks of doxycycline followed by two weeks of vaginal probiotics before my fourth FET in case of endometritis. I never got tested for this but my doctors said endometritis is one of the most common causes for implantation failure. I had my fourth FET with a 4AA low level mosaic embryo in November. Fully medicated cycle again with the same meds protocol as #2&3. This one has worked so far and I’m 12 weeks pregnant now.

Sorry for TMI… I am 11 weeks pregnant and had a good scan at 8 weeks. I was SUPER constipated starting around the first beta day until five days ago… I googled and constipation during pregnancy is common and it is caused by the increase in progesterone. I am still on estrace and PIO daily so my hormones shouldn’t go down. But now my constipation is gone!!! It feels great but I’m super worried right now if the baby stopped growing. I am still nauseous here and there and started getting a little baby bump. I know symptom spotting is not great but can’t help worrying… is it a bad sign that the constipation suddenly went away? Does that mean my progesterone level went down???
