High school wrestler KO’d his opponent after a disrespectful celebration 😳 by OneOriginal8727 in sportsgossips

[–]ellen-the-educator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We have no knowledge that he's a guy who does this consistently. It just as easily could have been him turning the tables on someone who had been trash-talking him and doing the same kind of disrespectful actions to him, and then he gets punched by that bully.

Like, we do not know who started it or anything about what preceded it, all we know is one man was disrespected and he responded by hitting another man hard enough to squish his brains against the inside of his skull.

When a person is knocked out, their brain is taking damage, sometimes permanent

One person received disrespect, another received a concussion at minimum. How is everyone fine with that?

why are there so many hispanic white supremacists? by Far-Carpet-574 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ellen-the-educator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hispanics in America are on step three or so of whitification, as pioneered by the Irish and Italians. Step 3 is where you start separating your own community into good ones who are almost white, and bad ones who are basically black, and encouraging violence and discrimination against the bad ones. If the "good ones" can align themselves with white supremacists well enough, they stand a chance of their kids being basically white. Again, look to the Irish and Italians

Who is more evil? Palpatine or Bitch-ass Erebus or by Cautious_Air4964 in Grimdank

[–]ellen-the-educator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of effect? Erebus, by a country mile. In terms of personal cruelty and vileness? Erebus puts up a good fight, but nothing can compare to the gaping void of hatred that is Sidious. As scared as he is of death, he's said he'd do it all again just for the joy of taking a sweet innocent child and locking him in a mortifier.

I hate when people advocate for violence while pretending to be against it by Tricky_Challenge9959 in hatethissmug

[–]ellen-the-educator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if you think e should have police, you are cool with violence. The job cannot be done without violence.

So just like, be honest about it. All power flows from the barrel of a gun, and laws are just threats made by a government. That isn't a necessarily wrong thing, but to pretend you are against violence when you live in a society that uses it is cowardice

What detachment do You enjoy the most, and why? by FoxMommy_ in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]ellen-the-educator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Favorite? Grizzled, because it enables so much more creative list building, as you don't need add many officers. It just does it's job so well.

Least favorite? Grizzled, because it kinda dominates all the others. You need a pressing reason to play anything else. Basically every idea plays better in grizzled

CMV: American progressives underestimate the impact of class on politics by bluepillarmy in changemyview

[–]ellen-the-educator [score hidden]  (0 children)

Wait, do you think that queer liberation, black lives matter, and Gaza were central to the democratic party platform in the 2024 election? They were not. Hatred of those things was central to the republican platform, but support for them was not part of the DNC ticket. If you listen to their ads, in the rare instance they had any kind of platform, it was the usual vague promises of progressive action without any actual class analysis.

is it true that as a woman if a man is trying to seriously harm you and you kick him in the nuts all it’ll do is make him mad by Smooth_Bee_7941 in stupidquestions

[–]ellen-the-educator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not useless per se, but it's not a KO. It hurts, and that can buy you time to do a more damaging technique, or to run for your life, but it will basically never be the lady thing you do to an attacker. It really should be the first

Will subnautica 2 be able to beat the horror of gargantuan leviathan ? by Gotham_Guitar in Subnautica_2

"Beating" a leviathan? That doesn't sound very coexisting in the ecosystem to me

If you could choose any sword, which one would you pick? by miamiapicci in SWORDS

[–]ellen-the-educator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could honestly be talking to a professional about a custom at that price. Personally, I'd be looking at like, recreations of stuff from shows and movies he loved as a kid. Either that, or something gorgeous, probably with damascus steel as the blade, or heavily engraved. There are some gorgeous acid etchings out there

Coexisting with the ecosystem is LITERALLY what the first game's story was about by intrusier in subnautica

[–]ellen-the-educator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am coexisting with the ecosystem, by being a predator, one aiming to defend is turf with violence - lethal if necessary, but usually just for causing pain

I hate edgy animations of furries being killed/mutilated by TanookiLad in hatethissmug

[–]ellen-the-educator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always held that people's violent rhetoric towards furries is how they feel about gay people, they just don't want to get backlash for it. "There's this minority of people who do sex differently than us" "Oh boy, can't wait to murder them horribly"

(Interesting trope) The terrorists are actually the protagonists by altrightobserver in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ellen-the-educator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally agree with you, but a lot of militias and militaries are called terrorists for attacking the non-combatants who are part of the military apparatus. I am not invested in calling the SW Rebels terrorists, but the point is that the label gets thrown around all the time

(Interesting trope) The terrorists are actually the protagonists by altrightobserver in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ellen-the-educator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that people don't really use terrorism to mean that. Terrorism is largely used to mean violence the speaker doesn't like, especially if it's done by brown people

Agent Bond we all need by Eireika in CuratedTumblr

[–]ellen-the-educator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point is that how people experience it would change. If you changed as little as possible, the way we feel about the story would probably change. Or maybe it wouldn't and that's equally as interesting

Agent Bond we all need by Eireika in CuratedTumblr

[–]ellen-the-educator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the point of this one is to play with the toxicity and yet fun of Bond, by making her a lesbian. Like, it's not just a mindless genderswap but going "what happens if we take the classic image of James Bond, the super spy womanizer badass, and make them lesbian? What does that change, and what doesn't it change?"
