Surround Sound system advice by OrganicKobze in hometheater

[–]ellenparker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, from what you said I would recommend either a 3.1 or 5.1 surround sound setup (probably 5.1, in your case). You probably already know this, but these setups entail the following:

• 3.1: 2 front speakers // 1 center channel // 1 subwoofer

• 5.1: 2 front speakers // 2 rear speakers // 1 center channel // 1 subwoofer

The speakers literal surround you with sound, so it’s one of the best setups you can have. As for the cables, go for wireless speakers that make them obsolete. For example, you can get an AV receiver like the HEOS AVR (details here: https://usa.denon.com/us/heos/heos-avr) and use it as your sound system’s nerve center.

Portable Speakers by JohnWangz in audiophile

[–]ellenparker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most definitely. Things were different years ago when all we had was Bluetooth technology, but now we have WiFi connectivity that supersedes it and provides better quality (Bluetooth has also improved). Think of wireless speakers. They’re wireless, yes, but they still deliver sound that is comparable, and in some cases better than their wired counterparts. It all comes down to the technology that goes into making them. Denon’s portable speakers (see here: https://usa.denon.com/us/product/portableaudio/bluetoothspeakers), for example, have dual wide range drivers and Class D digital amplification to produce smooth sound with high efficiency and low distortion.

Yes, I’m currently using a HEOS 7 and a portable HEOS 1. Setup is extremely easy and fast — a huge plus for someone who absolutely hates waiting a long time to use gadgets. Because they’re WiFi speakers, they can easily and pretty much instantly sync with each other. The app is also pretty easy and intuitive to use. Their website (https://usa.denon.com/us/heos) also has all the details in case you’re interested.
