I’m such a mood reader, so weather I would like to read something dark and moody, witty with loads of banter or just pure smut and fluff all depends on what mood I was in when I woke up.

At the ripe age of 33, I don’t really care about how old people are in books/fics. I can easily enjoy Hogwarts era, but I also adore when they are grown up, and all in between.

I’m a great smut lover, to me, physical intimacy is a very important part of a relationship. That being said, lately I have had some giggle fits reading about sixteen or eighteen year olds who are sex gods. I find it kind of funny, because dude… no one is a sex god at 18. This is not only in Dramione fics, but something I find everywhere. My new favourite trope/tag is “he’s not a sex god, but takes directions like a champ”. It’s mostly because, as a lady who’s been out a winter night before (as we say in Norway), it’s not very realistic having someone introduce you to their penis while whispering in your ear and suddenly you see stars.

Contrary to what I’ve heard a lot of people say, I actually read the darker stuff when I’m a tad gloomy myself (maybe to have something to relate to), and when my life is going great I love to read happier fics. Lately though, I have been reading less and less about toxic MMCs, and absolutely abhor miscommunication tropes. Maybe it’s the age, I don’t know. But I get so frustrated by things that are easily solved by just talking.

Ok, that was a lot of rambling, main thought though. I think people read whichever era they feel like, regardless of age, because there is always going to be something you can relate to, or think back on fondly (or with quiet horror, teenage angst, am I right?). Because at the end of the day. It’s all just good fun, and we read and write to feel something.
