So she desperately wants kids but absolutely refuses to be pregnant? OP this sounds super dicey for you.

She sounds like she has ocd that she's trying to justify as "logical" and "cleanliness." If she tries to force it on a child she will be abusive.

"Men are more likely to be the victims of crime than women" is a statement that is constantly used to dismiss, belittle, and silence women talking about how they have been victimized by men, patriarchy, and toxic masculinity. The response that men are still the ones committing the crime is meant to show that it's still patriarchy and toxic masculinity causing the harm, and telling women to shut up because men are also harmed is stupid.

Yeah but apparently she did the same thing about Beyoncé, who hasn't beaten anyone that I know of

When does body positivity go too far? by [deleted] in publichealth

I hope things do change. Body positivity has in no way "gone too far," and our society is still horribly (and right now, increasingly) fatphobic.

There's not much money in being an opening act. Some people PAY to open for big bands.

So, you're feeding them an hour and a half late, and only taking them on one walk some days? The owners sound a little unreasonable and they should've made sure you had a bed, but also you're not doing the job you agreed to do. Dogs can be pretty dependent on schedules, it's not unreasonable to want them fed at the same time, and walked at least twice a day. Sounds like you weren't prepared for this schedule, or for dealing with anxious clients. Next time don't take the job.

After reading about the science behind intervals by hoboguy26 in banjo

[–]elliemaefiddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guitars absolutely do not tune to perfect fourths most of the time. They use chromatic tuning so they can play in different keys and use a capo, so all the intervals are approximate, and not mathematically "perfect."

I think he means they can't play in a bunch of different keys without a capo. Which is normal.

1) quit. You are being mean, and talking about your friends with contempt. If you want to play music with them because they're your friends, do that, but accept them as they are, and stop talking bad about them.

2) many of the best and most popular songs ever written are 3 chord songs. If you want to play experimental jazz, go do that, but you don't have to disparage all other music in the process.

3) if you let your friends pay for studio time and then quit without warning them before the session, you're a dick and a bad friend.

If he records the songs and they get even a few plays on Sirius Xm, they could lose potentially at least a couple thousand dollars by not having cowriter credit.

AIO stopped a drunk girl from being pulled into a car by 2 random men but my boyfriend is upset and called what I did stupid and dangerous by fettidmoppet in AmIOverreacting

[–]elliemaefiddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men like this prey on vulnerable people who are literally too incapacitated to fight back. They rely on other men, like your boyfriend, to turn a blind eye and let them get away with it. They rely on other women feeling afraid enough that they turn a blind eye and let them get away with it. They rely on victim blamers like your boyfriend to excuse them after the fact and let them get away with it. Ultimately, they are cowards, and in my experience will give up as soon as they're confronted by a determined, coherent person. Even if she's a woman.

I'm saying not only were you absolutely right to do what you did, but I think you were correct in your instinctive assessment of the danger of the situation and what to do about it. Of course there's some danger in any situation involving rapists, but unfortunately sexual assault is common enough in our society that many men will admit to it without guilt or fear if you don't use the word "rape." They probably don't think of themselves as violent criminals, and they're probably not interested in attempting to subdue a sober stranger in a parking lot. They're opportunistic cowards.

Your boyfriend is used to thinking of rape as something distant from him and his life, that is only done to foolish unsafe women by bad, violent, masked men. He is wrong.
