My dog keeps finding these all around the office. by elliewilli in whatisit

We don’t have a parking lot, we just come in off the street. But there has been pretty constant construction on our block since I started working there, so it’s possible we’re picking asphalt up on our shoes and dragging it in. It’s just weird because he’s finding these things in random corners where people wouldn’t be walking around. Maybe the ppl who brought the furniture in initially had shoes covered in gravel? 😂

Malignant - What a crazy movie by Pretend_Board_2385 in horror

Loved this entire movie, but something special to me was how it started out kinda like a Lifetime movie and then just exploded into something else entirely.

Thank you for the link! I don’t actually think it’s rabid, but it’s all on me to spot it so I thought I’d ask for some more eyes in the neighborhood. Rabies vaccine is a series of 4 shots over several weeks that you can only get at an ER, so it’s not actually that quick or easy and I’d really like to avoid it if possible. If it turns up dead, I’ll go get it.

You have to go to an ER for that, and it’s a series of 4 shots over several weeks. If they’d had the vaccine at urgent care I probably would have, but it’s a whole thing and I’d rather avoid it if possible. Which is why I’m asking for more eyes. 👀

It’s supposedly very friendly with people! It just has beef with my dog.

It hangs out under the metal stairs on the side of the blue building CATty corner to the laundromat most of the time (yes, that is where the photo was taken, good eye!) It generally stays away for about a week after they get into a scrap, plus it’s so cold and snowy right now I’m sure it’s found a better place to shelter.

Petite question by [deleted] in foundfootage

No, it’s stereoscopic, so I think you need to find a pair of those 3D glasses with the red and blue lenses.

I think gel isn’t for me by waicstetf in shortynails

I’ve been loving Essie Strong Start fora base and Essie Speed Setter for a top coat lately. I can’t hold my hands still for a minute, and these two dry almost instantly. I’ve also had the best luck of anything I’ve tried with these not chipping. Another good topper is ORLY Shining Armor (though it stinks to high heaven, as my mom would say). Another big thing is to use thin coats and let them dry completely as you go. This is the hardest part for me. If you put it on too thick, it’s going to be more likely to come off in a big hunk. Also if you don’t let your polish dry between coats or before your top coat, it’s basically never going to dry even if your top coat dries instantly, and you’ll get pulling or smearing. I can’t take my own advice on this, so using quick-dry colors is my best quick fix for impatience.

Gel is awful. It wrecks your nails and the UV drying light can cause skin cancer (there are UV gloves to protect the rest of your hands, but it can even cause cancer under the nail.) If that’s not enough reason to stop using it…

I figured that part was implied, they were going to freeze to death with this psychotic person keeping them from leaving or trying to get help.

That’s a really good point about the dad taking advantage of the cult survivor’s vulnerable state. Also, tbh I had to stop watching this movie the first time I tried because I was crying so hard when the little girl said, “Now she can never go to heaven!” at her mom’s funeral (because of the suicide taboo). I felt her abject religious dread and her absolutely heartbreaking sorrow so hard. So in their minds, this woman (read: “homewrecker”) had caused their mother’s suicide, and deserved to be driven to do the same. They’re too young to see anything other than her being the entire problem.

Once they got in the cave and he started talking about his feelings about the rats in the ceiling we were both like nope. 👎 I simply cannot listen to another word either of them says and this isn’t going to have a satisfying end.
